  1. Thanks for the badge, I've just added it to my signature. I did look up I-400 but, it only shows me submarines on google... maybe my google is broken Not sure if I did mention why that plane hat radiators, but being derived from my SSTO and that I planed to fly this plane with > 1.000 m/s for some time. I needed a way to get the heat away from vital parts. I think the landing shows nicely how warm the radiators are, and the rest stays cool to the touch.
  2. Same here. That stone wall, our names will hopefully be added to, must be a strong stone wall
  3. Yeah, well it was an accident that I found it But glad somebody learned something from it
  4. I enter my "Frostburn MKII" plane and myself to the Circumnavigator challenge. It managed to go around Kerbin 1 time, haveing 4 Kerbals aboard. Total flight time was 1 h and 30 minutes. It landed on 0 fuel... but it's a plane, and nobody said anything that gliding the last few meters is forbidden Find the pictures at imgur and staying true to my very own style of entering challenges. There is a video as well. The major flight has been speed up to 15 times regular speed, but I suggest to watch the landing, as it is... rather interesting See you in the next challenge! Fly safe, and walk away from your landings!
  5. I'm entering my "SSTO-MKIII" (yes, no fancy name this time) to the challenge. I managed to bring 2 Kerbals into orbit (~ 85 to 86 km) there was a bit fuel left after landing. Now while this was a pure flight to orbit and back.... if it would go to do extended work in space. I would have to add more fuel, or refuel it in space. I'm not that professional (yet). But I'm glad I can land a plane without a real heatshield... only useing radiators to save the Kerbals from being cooked alive. There is a video to prove my flight. It was build, and send into orbit during my live-stream. Therefore no real picture gallery this time, but I have 1 picture after it returned home See you in at my next flight, and lets hope we all can walk away from it.
  6. Here comes my entry to the cave wall. I played Moderate Career, and in total it took me about 14,5 h. All of it was livestreamed on my twitch channel. I've uploaded all 3 parts to youtube too. Because of that, my pictures only show the beginning, almost at the end science and the unlook of all nodes, including a picture taken after all unlocking of all the buildings. pictures on imgur As to how I got my points: I collected all data on the KSC, took a plane, to visit allmost all biomes, including the north pole. The rest was low and high over Kerbin. Most points came from my probes that I'd sent out to the mun. A few flyby, 1 x Orbit, and 2 x landed probes got me all the science I needed. I'm glad one can go to the mun without much trouble and nodes. Why did it take me more then 14 hours? Well, part of that was wasteing time to complete contracts I'd taken on (yes, contracts gave me a few points too) and I was messing around to long with early planes. Then again, not haveing played for more then half a year, and never gone so far into the game without upgradeing any buildings, made for slower progression too. Ah, and since I play right now without any kind of mod, it was hard to not have Kerbal Engineer installed. It was much fun, and I'm still going after a few more community challenges before 1.1 comes out.
  7. Thanks sal_vager still, it's a fun thing to do... even if it is old
  8. I hope the challenge is still on... after all those New Year celebrations (on Kerbin they can last up to 1 week after New Years Eve), my Kerbals where drunk enough to reported for duty. I must admit, flying that thing is fun, but I'll never design a plane like that myself I have recorded the entire flight, I wish the landing would have been.... well, you see. At least they walked away from it I did not watch other videos or tips on how to do the challange, therefore don't watch my video if you don't want to get spoilered and try it out yourself before Yes, there are around 10 crashed and about 30 minutes of fly and explode before this final flight and video worked out Doctor Mandarb's drunk Kerbals fly a plan video!
  9. Greetings to all mission controllers, commanders, pilots, engineers and Kerbal Space Center staff, my name is Doctor Mandarb, and haveing signed in with the forum back in summer 2014, I'll now be active on here too... yeah time goes by fast, doesn't it? I've been playing KSP for almost 1.000 h's now, and 95% of all that gameplay time has been live-streamed (over the last 2 years). With KSP 1.1 on the horizon, I feel it's the perfect time to come back and turn my stream into a family friendly place. You are all more then welcome to jump in whenever you like. And if not, I'll still hope you'll enjoy KSP as much as I will! In the past I loved useing a lot of mods that made KSP harder and more realistic. But since I'm expecting 1.1 to break all / most existing mods, I'll stay away from any and will play KSP 1.0.5 in it's natural state. Best wishes and hopes of success to the team working on KSP 1.1. I hope you'll be able to deliver a solid version in 2016! To make a long story short, it's good to be back with the Kerbals! I hope to add at least another 500 hours of gameplay during 2016! Take care and fly save. Doctor Mandarb!
