  1. Hi, Is there a way to have a multiline comment, or plans to implement this feature? I did a quick search of this thread and didn't find anything.
  2. I want that (if only for the reason that I just made something slightly faster than the previous gatecrasher...) http://imgur.com/a/PB6qr 330 m/s - slightly faster! EDIT: With more engines, I've upped it to 570 m/s. This is getting interesting. EDIT2: With even more engines, I've surpassed 600 m/s. Please incorporate a gatecrasher leaderboard.
  3. I've built a payload containing a fireworks display for Dres, capable of landing from an intercept of Dres with fuel left for the displays. It contains only stock parts, but was only tested on Kerbin, so some displays may not work as intended. Unfortunately, I don't think my PC would be able to run it without crashing the game, so I would like to submit the payload for someone else to fly. Just mention me and I'll be happy. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2AEeT0pEyFacnZZajFFVDVPR2s Notes: If you launch the payload by itself, with the fairing, it spontaneously explodes. You might need some struts or something. The display was balanced so it could land without serious issues with torque, but I didn't incorporate any balance for transfer or launch craft, which has to be dealt with. You will probably want to bring some kerbals along to enjoy the fireworks. *Edit* The display consists of : Two Kerbodyne 14400 (that's probably not its actual name) tanks 4 toggleable Mainsail Engines, fed off of the left over fuel from landing 1 Hammer SRB, engine facing upwards A lot of radial decouplers 4 mini-rockets
  4. This challenge sound interesting. I'd like to give a suggestion on measuring success. If the resources tab in flight is opened, the amount of ablator being used per (i'm not sure what time unit) is displayed in brackets. By taking a screenshot, you could see the maximum amount of ablator used per (time unit). Challenge entries could also be divided into non-powered and powered. Just an idea.
  5. Erm, I was kinda lazy, so I didn't bother to uninstall Kerbal Alarm Clock and Kerbal Engineer Redux. Neither of the mods were used during flight. Also, I used hacks to get it into the collision with Minmus (but not when during the collision) At the very end, I had to reload a couple of quicksaves because the KSP engine doesn't simulate every instant Other than that, I pride myself on not using RCS. http://imgur.com/a/34KRt
  6. Oh. Right. My intention was to give a lack of information during the flight, including the navball. I banned IVA in an edit.
  7. Really? Because there's no navball, so good luck executing maneuvers. I suppose you could maneuver each individual component (pro/retro, nor/antinor, rad/antirad) but then, I wouldn't say that's easy. By the way, I appreciate the feedback and the welcome!
  8. So, this is the first time I've ever posted, so this *may* not be a terribly good post. I'm also a relatively new KSP player, so I didn't do any of the harder challenges, nor know whether or not they are possible. As the title suggests, this challenge is about having no heads-up-display. F2 I believe is the default key. Rules: no cheats, visual mods are fine, info mods are fine (e.g. Kerbal Engineer Redux), I'm not sure whether in-flight assistants (MechJeb) work with no HUD. Stock Parts only. Anything that alters stuff in flight (FAR) preferably no. Build your craft. Action groups are probably important with the lack of HUD. Before liftoff, you can do whatever (turn on SAS, transfer crew, fly a plane into your craft, i dunno) but when you start liftoff, there must be no HUD. The only time you can get your HUD back is when you've completed the mission. Going into map mode is allowed. Map mode probably will provide you with valuable information about your periapsis, apoapsis, altitude and velocity. [i don't think I'm missing anything, am I?] Really, seriously too easy: Get into space. Very easy: Get into orbit (PE>70 km) Easy: Get into orbit, and come back and land (and survive the landing). Medium: Get into either a mun or minmus intercept Hard: Land on either the mun or minmus, then come home Very hard: Land on Duna, then come home No, this is not possible: Do a flyby of the mun, then land on Laythe, then get into low Eve orbit, send another craft (also without HUD) to dock with this craft, escape Eve, get into kerbin orbit, land on the mun, then come home. Jump out of the spacecraft before it reaches 1km altitude when coming back, and use the jetpack to survive (i recently found out that it is possible to land a kerbal like that). Land within 50 km of the KSC. There's no ranking, do the challenge just for the fun of it. Edit: Here's my screenshots of the easy challenge, with an extremely overkill craft. There's not a lot of screenshots, though. http://imgur.com/a/MJ1BJ 2nd Edit: Someone notified me that there is a navball in the IVA. My intention was to have a lack of information, so no IVA please.
