  1. Exactly same issue, exactly same stick. Buttons work fine, axises don't even register. Supremely tired of eternal troubleshooting.
  2. I think current music sounds very kerbal. But on the other hand I must say I'd be very delighted to see Michael Burkard be commissioned to do some stuff for KSP. https://michaeljburkard.bandcamp.com/album/solar-symphony
  3. Rename EC to Wat. Not Watt, but Wat. Then make a battery bank capable of holding 1.21 GigaWats.
  4. Planetary rings are not permanent, rather like really slow space weather. Earth has had them many times in the past and Saturn's rings are going to fade away one day.
  5. -Shorter versions of LY-35, 60 and 99. Current landing gear need to be clipped absurdly deep into the aircraft to make planes look sensible instead of ostriches on rollerskates. -Side folding landing gear. Real landing gear are heavy and most aircraft fold them sideways into the aircraft, not along longitudinal axis to keep the CoM from shifting. Only aircraft I can think of which has KSP landing gear is A-10. -Rhino is good engine, but there are times when even it is bit lacking. Since we're getting 5m parts soon, wouldn't it be nice to get 5m Sea Dragon engine too? -On subject of Sea Dragon, boats and ships and water stuff like that, could we get some ballast tank bits?
  6. Staff at Zavod 653 are working around the clock to deliver new design (refurbish retired airliner) so it could be submitted for trials. Ka-12 is acknowledged to be older design and in it's original form it was a military transport introduced over half a century ago.
  7. If is frustrating indeed. To a point some difficult customers get spaced on entry trajectory. Either; 1, Contracts should be simplified so everyone in one contract want same stuff or parts of it. If three want orbital flight and one just suborbital, that's a great contract. If everyone wants to land on different body in Kerbin system, it's just stupid. 2, Agency should be able to offer tours where player decides what the tour includes, how many get to go and stuff like that. Like actual travel agencies work.
  8. After further flight tests by Zavod 653's testpilot, Valentina Kermanikov, we've managed to recreate the issue of diving. This is due to high mounted engines, which at high throttle and low speed, tend to overpower tail's ability to keep the plane level during the take-off from water. During take-offs from solid surface front landing gear transfers this torque to the ground. Recommended procedures for take-offs from water are added to the Ka-24 owner's manual v1.1 1, Tail plane's maximum travel is to be increased to maximum and constant nose up input should be applied through take off. 2, Throttle should be increased to 50% of maximum rated power, until speed of 25-30m/s is achieved. 3, Throttle can then be increased in 10-15% increments while applying sensible nose up input. 4, When in air, tail planes should be restricted back to max 100% travel. Flap action group has been lost during the development. It'll be included on further production and airframes with serial number of 0019 or lower are to be refitted as part of their first factory inspection and upgrade package. Faster upgrade schedule is possible as part of further airframe purchases. Lowering unit costs was studied after customer reviews. Only feasible option found would be to drop the No.2 engine from the middle, but this would lower the aircraft's performance slightly. Austere passenger and cargo versions should be more affordable than current high class business layout.
  9. Flying longer range jet alone, with no pee breaks, would be awful I think. Regulations demand the cockpit to be manned by at least one pilot at controls at all times just in case autopilot gets a fit and stops flying the jet.
  10. @Mjp1050 Does Rapier count as jet or rocket engine? And is atmo skipping acceptable flight profile?
  11. I'm pretty sure "fuel capacity / burn rate * speed / 1000m" is good. Amount of fuel divided by the flow gives us the number of seconds fuel lasts, multiplied by the speed gives us the distance covered within that time and dividing by 1000 rounds madly long number into nice kilometres. Actual range is bit longer than calculated one using this formula since aircraft becomes lighter and faster over the time as fuel is spent. Even if the formula was wrong, it's fair as everyone uses the same way to measure performance.
  12. Here's Factory No.653's offering in Medium regional jet category. Aircraft was designed to fulfil Kerboflot's need for replacement long endurance airliner to gradually retire Ka-114. Being reliable, powerful and safe platform Ka-62's deriatives go on to serve as airliners, cargo haulers, tankers, AEW aircraft and maritime patrol aircraft just as previous Ka-114 and satellite launcher carrier being added to it's many tasks. Part count is 47 and it can carry "72+2". Recommended cruising altitude is 5000-6300 metres. Recommended cruising speed is 285 m/s. Theoretical max range with full fuel load of 7046 units is 2600km and some change. 7046 /0,76 * 285 / 1000m Takeoff speed is about 60 m/s with full fuel load, landing speed around 50 m/s. Catastrophic failure of inboard engine at Vr and subsequent loss of half of engine power was tested during development. Aircraft was found to be able fly and remain controllable even if three engines fail. Ka-62 passed both engine failure and water ditching tests with flying colours. https://kerbalx.com/Wafflesforkrebs/Ka-62 Zavod 653's staff recommends installation of better avionics for more pleasant flight. https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/124417-122-130-atmosphereautopilot-1510-looking-for-maintainer/
  13. Here's Factory No.653's offering (24) in Turboprop category Part count is 51, Dry mass is 40 tonnes and it can carry "24+4". Flyout cost is 126,326,000 Funds. Aircraft has a cargo hold in the rear.Recommended cruising altitude is 4000 metres. Engines tend to stall above 4200 m.Recommended cruising speed is 155 m/s. Theoretical max range with full fuel load of 4373+1440 units is 2500 km. Reserve tanks hold total of 1440 units of fuel, which is good for 620 km. 5813 /0,36 * 155 / 1000m with full fuel. 1440 /0,36 * 155 / 1000m with reserve fuel.Takeoff speed is about 70 m/s with full fuel load, landing speed around 40 m/s. Pilot should raise the nose gently to avoid tail strikes. https://kerbalx.com/Wafflesforkrebs/Ka-1224 Here's the (32) variant with additional cabin Part count is 54, Dry mass is 45 tonnes and it can carry "48+4". Flyout cost is 155,660,000 Funds. Aircraft has small cargo hold in the rear.Recommended cruising altitude is 3200 metres.Recommended cruising speed is 155 m/s. Theoretical max range with full fuel load of 4373+1440 units is 2500 km. Reserve tanks hold total of 1440 units of fuel, which is good for 620 km.5813 /0,36 * 155 / 1000m with full fuel. 1440 /0,36 * 155 / 1000m with reserve fuel.Takeoff speed is about 70 m/s with full fuel load, landing speed around 40 m/s. Pilot should raise the nose gently to avoid tail strikes. https://kerbalx.com/Wafflesforkrebs/Ka-1248
  14. Here's Factory No.653's offering in Seaplane category. Part count is 55 and it can carry "16+2". Recommended cruising altitude is 600-1200 metres. Due to large wings it is possible to reach 11 500 metres of altitude but it is advised against as it increases fuel consumption considerably. Engine stalls may occur at high altitudes. Recommended cruising speed is 120-130 m/s for highest efficiency. While the plane can fly at nearly 200 m/s, it is advised against as it increases fuel consumption considerably. Engine stalls may occur at speeds above 200 m/s. Theoretical max range with full fuel load of 2000 units is 780km. 2000 /0,32 * 125 / 1000m Takeoff speed is about 75 m/s with full fuel load, landing speed around 40 m/s. Landing faster than 40 m/s in water voids the warranty. Recommended fuel load is 800 units in hull and engine pod tanks. For longer flights it is possible to use wing tanks too for additional 1200 units but this makes water landings dangerous. https://kerbalx.com/Wafflesforkrebs/Ka-24 These are recommended procedures for take-offs from water. Due to high mounted and powerful engines, Ka-24 may attempt diving if full throttle is applied too quickly. 1, Tail plane's maximum travel is to be increased to maximum and constant nose up input should be applied through take off. 2, Throttle should be increased to 50% of maximum rated power, until speed of 25-30m/s is achieved. 3, Throttle can then be increased in 10-15% increments while applying sensible nose up input. 4, When in air, tail planes should be restricted back to max 100% travel.
