  1. Here's the video of my stutter. This is after hitting Alt + END one time. I realize this craft is huge. YES, I know it has too many parts. This isn't my career mode, just a sandbox game for experimenting. I wanted to build and launch a ship like they do on Youtube. I also know that mods affect the stutter. I don't have very many mods.
  2. I am running 1.2.1, I forgot to update recently but this bug has happened to me since 1.0, it's not a new thing. Also, none of my saves allow me to use the debug, and I don't have any mods that intercept it. Like I mentioned, Afterburner doesn't register any frame drops, RAM spikes or CPU spikes, nor is the GFX card especially taxed at these hiccups. I ran the MemGraph. Every red line (trash collection I guess?) accompanied a hiccup. I'll post a video of that here in a few minutes after it's uploaded.
  3. I've watched the Task Manager, there's no noticeable RAM issue there that I can tell, nor can I see anything in MSI Afterburner regarding CPU, GPU or RAM. The issue seems -- to my uneducated eyes -- to be exclusively in-game. Thanks diomedea, I'll follow your advices and instructions when I get home. I haven't been able to open the debug menu (maybe I disabled it for career mode?) but I'll see what I can do. The last vessel I built with this issue was a shuttle sporting 216 parts at launch, well within the capabilities of my PC. I have video of it, but the save has been deleted (I got mad). Thanks for all your replies!
  4. It seems like this happens after I use CTRL+ Z in the VAB or SPH. Once the stutter begins, the vessel I was building will cause it even worse while active, and the stutter never ever ever goes away, it only gets worse the more often I use CTRL + Z. Reloading sometimes solves the problem for a short time, but it returns soon . It is far worse with KER, KIS and probably some others. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it? (I don't want to reinstall my game yet again, because I've finally gotten somewhere and stopped derping around.) Windows 10 x64 x64 game no mods for this particular complaint EVGA GTX 980ti Core i7-4770k 16gb RAM Tank you!!
  5. That never happened. Say nothing. Hahahaha
  6. I know this post is pretty much right at a year old but I'm gonna revive it anyways. I'm having this same problem. I've built a shuttle and it works really well if it doesn't veer too far off course during ascent. The problem, as far as I can tell, is pretty much exclusively the SAS being waaaay too twitchy. If you stare at the little pippers indicating control inputs, you'll see that they snap wildly around. Sometimes the shuttle makes it to orbit with enough fuel, often the shuttle wiggles too far off course, occasionally it even throws itself too far in a direction and enters a sekrit backlip mode or a speshul flatspin ascent profile. The best way I've found to counter this is to use my joystick, but I feel physically exhausted after 6 minutes of Jedi-quality midichlorian-tapping predictive flight correction. It's truly tiring but I can get to orbit just fine. Also, the gigantic shuttle tailfin is too big and causes a huge torque moment, but there isn't really a suitable replacement so I just disable the control surface or reduce it severely. The SAS wheels can be sufficient for yaw if you have enough of them, although I just rely heavily on Vernor RCS. In short, if there's an improvement to be made in the game, it would definitely be the SAS control. It's too spastic and it doesn't predict trends like a human or a decent algorithm. Instead of damping wobbles it amplifies or exacerbates with too-strong of course corrections.
  7. Thanks kcs123! It's much easier to understand what Wikipedia says when somebody is there to point and say, "Force. Radius. Force times Radius is Torque. Doofus."
  8. Oh I didn't realize it was the "pivot point" of the rotation. I was assuming vector meant it went that direction, as in vectors during a dogfight. Thanks, I get it now! It confused me that it only points out to one side.
  9. Okay, so what is a torque vector? I've Googled to cure my ignorance but all the words just washed through my brain like so many neutrinos. Is it something like gyroscopic precession? I only generally understand that concept insofar as it relates to helicopter blades and bicycle wheels, and I wouldn't think my ships gyrate so fast as to make that even remotely relevant.
  10. I'm probably being dense. I get the red circular arrow representing direction of rotation and that the larger it is, the more torque is exerted. You've probably explained this in your comment, but there is a red arrow that points out of the center of the red circle. So if I have placed one linear RCS thruster on the top of the nose of a vehicle, attempting translation would result in negative G for the pilot and poisitive G for the tail as described by the huge red circle-arrow, and there is a red arrow pointing out of the center towards the port side. What force is being imparted to port? This will be certain we are talking about the same arrow.
  11. I had the same thing happen! I was flying around, doing sexy aerobatics when my plane ran out of fuel. I reverted back to spaceplane hangar (to avoid wasting money) and modified my plane. I went to launch but remembered something and tried to revert to SPH again, but the button didn't do anything, so I clicked "Cancel". That also did nothing. So I Alt-F4'd because I couldn't do anything. Came back to my game and both my saves were gone!! Tried to move save folders in and out, tried all kinds of shenanigans, none of it worked. BUT WAIT THERE'S a little bit MORE! Then I decided to make a sandbox save and play around until bedtime. All kinds of weird stuff was happening, like duplicate parts if i detached and reattached a mother-part; or parts rotating themselves when detached; or selecting one bit of a detached bunch-of-parts; or many kinds of really obnoxious staging shenanigans. And then I logged off to go to bed and thought "Let's see if those old savefiles are back in there now" and guess what? The sandbox I'd been playing for a couple hours was totally gone. Tomorrow I'll see if my other KSP installs are borked, also...
  12. I am very sick and can't sleep. I made dumb mistakes! Never mind haha, thank you!
  13. Hey I have some sort of bug going on. Whenever I attach radial rocket bits to the 3m fuel tanks, I get a bug where KER doesn't bother to calculate for certain engines. Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/Tpf7wTH http://imgur.com/mbrwQ4H http://imgur.com/1k3nOpv http://imgur.com/CAawoBl
  14. I have a question that I can't find the answer to, no matter how much time I've spent looking. WHAT IS THE RED ARROW POINTING PERPENDICULAR TO THE CIRCULAR RED ARROW? I get all the other arrows, but why is the orthogonal arrow there? What does it indicate? If I've placed unbalanced thrusters and I am checking translation balance against a starboard burn that will rotate the vessel to port, why is there an orthogonal red arrow pointing out of the CoM, what does it tell me?? *I am not referring to the circular rotation arrow* Thanks!!
  15. Where do you people get these mods?? I used to get them off of CKAN but now nothing I care about is on the modlist. I can manually install things, sure, but there's a reason somebody made CKAN (Cthulhu take mercy on their saintly souls). My freshly-updated KSP yearns for it's polish of Realism and Ferram, so I'll just be doing it manually but I was kinda wondering if it's a permanent thing or...?
