  1. It looks like this was something physical, maybe the card overheating. I opened the case, dust-busted out the dust (there wasn't that much dust), and reseated the card and cable. It's all good now.
  2. KSP works fine for 5-10 minutes, then the video card suddenly stops sending any output and my monitor displays "power save mode." Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete brings video back, and I can switch to Task Manager. When I switch back, KSP might be playable for a few more minutes but the video almost always goes out again. I've been playing KSP for a few years but this problem just started happening in February. I suspect it's a Windows or video driver bug because the same thing happens in my current install of 1.3.1 with recent mods removed and in a previous install of 1.3.0 which never had a problem. I can't find a specific activity that triggers the problem. I'm running 64-bit KSP 1.3.1 on Windows 10 version 1709, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 with driver 23.21.13.9101 (current last week). output_log.txt is at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SH45_nbIchS84ZlicDeJkOJXLlwbF9gO Thanks for any suggestions!
  3. Ok, I can't seem to insert the link as an album correctly. Here's a plain ol' link - https://imgur.com/a/kR80j I'm not using Tweakscale. I've just started using mods that add non-stock parts. In addition to Konstruction I'm using KIS, KAS, and Planetary Base Systems.
  4. I'm using construction ports for the first time and am seeing some strange behavior. After compressing some ports it looks like the parts are disconnected, but there's really just one ship. If I flip to map view then back to staging view then the parts look connected as I'd expect. Even weirder, every time I drop out of time warp phantom construction ports go flying off of the ship. They don't show up as debris. So far it seems like this is just cosmetic. I haven't found a functional problem. The ship was built in the VAB and then cheated into orbit. It has a central core with arms connecting outer modules. The inner pairs of ports compress as I'd expect. The outer pairs have the strange artifacts. The same thing happens whether I use Compress or Multi-weld. Maybe there's something unexpected about the parent relationships since this was built in the VAB and not assembled in orbit? Thanks for any info on what might contribute to this weirdness.
  5. Wow, Jool is so pretty! I'm looking forward to running into a cactus.
  6. Is the Mun's surface supposed to be this dark? It's nearing noon (note the solar panels) but the surface is almost completely black. I'm also running PlanetShine and Stock Visual Enhancements. SVT was my most recent addition, and when I saw a big change. Thanks! http://imgur.com/cvvXqto
  7. Is the Mun's surface supposed to be this dark with Stock Visual Terrain? It's nearing noon (note the solar panels) but the surface is almost completely black. I'm also running PlanetShine and Stock Visual Enhancements (including Environmental Visual Effects and Scatterer), SVT was my most recent addition, and when I saw a big change. Thanks! http://imgur.com/cvvXqto
  8. Many people point to this post from Red Iron Crown as a good way to time suicide burns - I'm not understanding something though. If I'm in orbit and set a maneuver node over the point of impact, when I drag retrograde the Ap doesn't hit the surface. Wherever the Ap started in the orbit, it winds up directly over the point of impact, but will never touch the surface. My "orbit" would drop straight down onto the surface when my retrograde burn exactly matches my orbital velocity. But that doesn't seem like a safe landing since it's not leaving anything to cancel the speed gained by falling. What am I missing?
