Thruster placement is very important, especially when you need your thrusters to handle rotation. If the thrusters aren‘t placed perfectly equal around the COM (the easiest way of doing this is having just 4 thrusters at the same height on your craft as the COM), a rotation will always induce a translation too. When you managed to place your thrusters perfectly, you can rotate freely without any translation. A very useful tool (the most useful mod IMHO (yes, even more useful than MechJeb or KER)) is RCS Build Aid.

Let‘s see how much the meaning of the scentense can shift. Try to concentrate on just the scentense above, not on scentenses a few posts back! Ignore them! You can interpret and rephrase the scentense however you want, as long as it makes some kind of sense. Express it in a more complicated manner or simplify, make it more eloquent or more profane. Add, replace or cut out adjectives, use synonyms. Do other stuff I haven‘t thought of. The next person can choose a scentense to start with.

You can do the calculation based on your orbital period, using this: Orbital Period = some constant * semi major axis ^ (3/2) don‘t worry about some constant, it will cut out in your calculation. the semi major axis is the sum of your apoapsis, periapsis and kerbins diameter. The orbital period of your deployment orbit has to be 2/3 the orbital period of your desired orbit (for 3 satelites), 3/4 for 4 satelites, 4/5 for 5 satelites and so on.

If you want to shave off time, you should depart shortly after the „ideal“ window, not before. The distance you have to travel is much shorter then and you need much less speed for equal time of travel. You can see this quite easy in this plot: you want to be around where I put the cross in order to have the best fast transfer:

That‘s what these lazy Falcon 1st stages always do, leave most of the work for the 2nd stage! just kidding, I’f you want the first stage to do more, simply make it bigger. For the boostback burn, there‘s a really useful mod called Trajectories. For the landing burn: practice. I haven‘t found an easy way of doing it!
