    Me, myself & Jeb
  1. Not raging or bashing at all - just start off with an insult. For me the load times are more or less the same as ever (playing since .18-ish). A lot less crashes on VAB-launch pad transfers now though.
  2. According to my notes (which are not 100% up-to-date): Maneuver Node Improvement Procedural Fairings NovaPunch B9 Aerospace Pack KAS – Kerbal Attachment System Kosmos Space Station Pack Kerbal Alarm Clock Subassembly Manager Simple Part Organizer Quantum Strut Module Manager Engineer Redux: Stock Pods Kerbal Engineer Redux Lazor Docking Cam Robotic Arms Pack Dragon Spacecraft RCS Build Aid FusTek Station Parts Expansion Kerbal Crew Manifest Protractor MechJeb and RemoteTech for All ISA MapSat Kethane Pack KSPX MechJeb Spherical Fuel Tanks Procedural Wings Damned Robotics Parts Infernal Robotics Plugin 787 MB in Gamedata (exluding Squad). I had to delete parts I don't use from the list above to make it possible for KSP to start. I almost never end the program properly, it just crashes after running for a while.
  3. Generally going for circular orbits, would consider below 200~250 km to be LKO. 90-110 km I put temporary construction/docking, waiting for transfers. Currently building a station at 120 km, apart from temporary stuff this is as close to Kerbin I've ever (intentionally) placed anything. If I ever manage to build an SSTO (I build all my stuff from scratch) that works I'll probably aim for a refueling station at 80 km. I'd never dare to go closer than that. I usually don't plan well for debris reduction and something often gets dropped around 100 km or so, making this area a bit dangerous. This save I'm trying to do better but eventually it'll get crowded... Earlier stations I've all constructed at stationary orbit.
  4. While playing KSP I've started listening to this: SomaFM Mission Control. Right now they are playing tapes from Apollo with soft music in the background. Really funny to listen to the astronauts going crazy about some 'pretty rock' they found and 'amazing' craters. Sometimes one can't help but wonder what mix of gasses they had in the suits. On the other hand if I was on the Moon after several years of hard work I'd be giddy too. Can recommed SomaFM in general, 20 channels streamed ad-free music... Hope this doesn't count as advertising, I'm in no way affiliated, yadi, yada....
  5. I selected only aerodynamics. Resources would be a close second.
  6. Well, I built this in .18 in sync orbit I believe: It ended up more or less straight above the space center making it an excellent comm hub for RemoteTech. Having it in one position makes rendezvous very simple, so I've used it as standard (main) station position a few times.
  7. Wait for mod updates/confirmations while toying around, probably with planes since I haven't done many of those. Once RemoteTech is confirmed, I'll start building a comm network as preparation for my big mission to Duna & Ike.
  8. This is great! Now all that is needed is an ALS
  9. R & D. Going to do my first serious interplanetary mission after .21 release (and relevant mod updates), intend to dock together a large ship with several smaller attached crafts and establish a comm network around Duna & Ike, map them, land on both. Finishing off by extracting and converting Kethane from Ike to get home again. There's a lot of trials surrounding what parts to use, how to construct everything, most efficient way to establish a stable-ish comm network etc... Last time I tried to get to Duna all my ships (I sent three in the same window, one manned and two probes) were tossed out of the system at faster-then-light speed or plainly disappeared. That the risk with using 20+ mods I guess...
  10. Hmmm, not even close, I once had ~1000 hours logged with a virtual airline in Flight Simulator (probably another few hundred hours not logged or logged with other VAs), that's probably my record. I also play grand strategy games, hundreds of hours each in different Total War versions and various Paradox games. Since I only got KSP half a year ago and have been otherwise occupied at times since then it's still lagging behind...
  11. I decided to do it simple: Virtual cookie if you know where the idea for the base flag comes from. Another cookie for recognition and reference of H. Seldon without looking it up.
  12. Sad, mainly about the lost potential, but happy about the game itself.
  13. I'm an old GIS geek, and I'd just like to pitch in some support for keeping any kind of 2D output to file of the information. I've used separate mapping software to check ISA height data with an overlay of Kethane deposits to try to identify high-yield landing areas that are flat(-ish). As been said before, there is no night side and it's way easier to analyze the data outside of KSP.
