  1. What a great idea! Desperately needed:

  4. Sorry guys, some very amusing yet nevertheless political stuff removed from the thread. As for the game, Earth is uninhabitable, everyone loses. Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  5. The F-14 is piloted by Tom Cruise, and @TwoCalories miraculously wins. Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  6. Concorde crashes into the skyscraper, busting into flames and disintegrating into a billion pieces. The enormous, 829.8 metre-high tower of Nokia phones collapses, blanketing the UAE with 118.5 million (according to ChatGPT) Finnish relics. Amazingly, and in spite of the fact that none of these phones have an IP rating, they all survive! @Maria Sirona and Finland win! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  7. You'll never believe how @Kimera Industries beat a Super Hornet! See here! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  8. The real gun makes an infinitesimally small impact on the galaxy, and the galaxy absorbs the gun without even noticing. @dsplaistedwins! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  9. Since the Sea Dart never got past the prototype stage, @TwoCalorieswins with the finger gun! Rock-paper-scissors shoot, anything you want to do!
  10. Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  11. A thick, impenetrable darkness spreads across the land. [Spoilers snipped] Everyone loses. Elon Musk invested in Tesla in 2004, so at least we have that. Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  12. We can have a serious discussion without it getting heated or personal. I have removed some content from the thread that crossed the line there. As a suggestion to everyone involved, if we want people to come over to our way of thinking, we really need to acknowledge the other person's arguments as well. Back on topic. @Exoscientist, I think I understand your concerns, and the description of "full duration" for those short yet awesome tests is a bit confusing. Having said that, I am a bit confused by your arguments as well. My question is: what difference does it make to test an engine on the ground vs testing it in the air? These are not missions, these are test flights. So what difference does it make?
  13. A barbarbarbarian barbartender Self explanatory
  14. To be fair, there aren't that many private rocket companies in Europe.
  15. ... which can unfortunately not get any oxygen from Eve's atmosphere, so it gracefully glides down to the ground and is stranded there forever. @Kimera Industries wins! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  16. Jebediah doesn't care if things look weird. @dsplaistedwins! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  17. The RQ-4 burns up. @dsplaisted wins! Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  18. The ant is unceremoniously washed away. @Kimera Industries wins without even realising there was a competition. Rock-paper-scissors-shoot, anything you want to do!
  19. See this is why KSP 1 will always be better than KSP 2. In KSP 1, they solved this issue early on by implementing no timewarp during burns. Together with ion engines, all the bugs mentioned here were solved. Why can't the KSP 2 devs learn from things that were already fixed a decade ago?
  20. Catacomb A comb for cats
  21. @mikegarrison I remember there was at least one early F9 flight with an engine failure that still completed its mission. Does F9 have armour between the engines?
