  1. If you have buttons that don't work (correctly) you could try something like Controllermate (Controllermate is only available for OS X, but I'm sure there must be some Windows equivalent out there) Its a program that lets you map the keys of almost any device to the equivalent keyboard command and it also allows you to make combo keys with logic gates for example: you need to press 2 buttons (or more) to stage as a safety feature i use it to program the keys of my x52 joystick It took me a while to map all the keys and modes I wanted, but I'm very happy with how it turned out By using "shift keys" and the mode selector on the joystick through logic gates I could potentially give every button 6 functions should it be needed of course it gets a bit hard to keep track of all your buttons that way
  2. Biggest vessel I made was back in 0.24 to go to Laythe May have been a "bit" over-engineered and took an insane amount of time to develop, test and assemble in orbit but it got the job done Can't remember how many parts it was made of, but it was several thousand It consisted of 3 drive sections I connected to each other with 2 refuel landers with rovers (in the 2 cones) and a atmospheric plane with a rover bay To get an idea how heavy it was ... the departure burn was 30minutes in game, but took 8 hours real-time
  3. ooops almost forgot 2 of my favs: Blade runner The thing (and "The Thing from Another World" on which "the Thing" was based)
  4. Europa Report and Dune! (although when it comes to Dune you might want to stick to the 2000 miniseries as the 1984 movie doesn't really follow the books and might be a bit boring if you haven't read them)
  5. i think you should have posted under the technical support section of the forum (I'm sure somebody will move it to the correct location ) http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/forum/7-gameplay-and-technical-support/ not sure if it 'll help for the commandseat issue, but I think it should get your docking ports unstuck (make a safety backup of your save game )
  6. Cool Sorry my suggestion wasn't of much use, but I'm glad you got your crafts unstuck
  7. i haven't encountered this bug myself, but maybe you can solve it this way:
  8. Not sure if its related, but it makes me think of an issue i'm having Each time I start KsP, the first ship (don't have any bases) i load shakes and then breaks into 2 pieces. usually the piece with the command unit flies off at a high speed and I can't do anything with the remaining part if I reload the save and go back to the same ship (or any other) everything is ok again i haven't investigated why this is happening and I simply work around the issue by creating a save just before i quit next time i play, i just load any ship and then go back to the last save and continue as if nothing happened ...
  9. LOL it's a common problem I have 2 cats and they both love to bug me while I'm playing Wouldn't be the first time they cause my ship to execute all its stages in 1 or 2 seconds ... can be pretty funny on a complex ship
  10. I also had issues with the axis of my x52 joystick. Couldn't get an axis assigned correctly resulting in cross-input. I solved it by editing the settings.cfg file in the KSP folder by hand. First assign at least one axis in game so that you get the correct reference in the settings file Then quit the game and open the settings.cfg with some editor and look for AXIS_PITCH, AXIS_YAW and AXIS_ROLL One of these should already have some value entered for the "name" and "id" fields. Copy/paste this name to the other axis you want to use Under it you should see an id value, this is the id of the axis on your joystick. Once you figured out each axis' id, you can simply assign them correctly Example: AXIS_PITCH { name = Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System id = joy0.1 inv = False sensitivity = 2.683727 deadzone = 0.2422314 scale = 1 group = 0 switchState = Any } AXIS_ROLL { name = Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System id = joy0.0 inv = False sensitivity = 2.673492 deadzone = 0.23465 scale = 1 group = 0 switchState = Any } AXIS_YAW { name = Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System id = joy0.2 inv = False sensitivity = 2.714433 deadzone = 0.2536035 scale = 1 group = 0 switchState = Any } AXIS_THROTTLE { name = Saitek Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System id = joy0.3 inv = True sensitivity = 1 deadzone = 0.01895357 scale = 1 group = 0 switchState = Any }
  11. I think you can also do this by placing the lights on your docking arms without using symmetry Each light should then be individually selectable for the action groups
  12. Hi There, I use a Saitek X52 Pro on my iMac for KSP and I'm very happy with it. Originally got it to play IL2 and X3 because it has a lot of functionality It also has 3 modes so that you can assign different functions to a button depending on the selected mode (not to mention you can also create shift buttons ... multiplying the number of functions you can assign to buttons by at least 6) Downside is that the joystick is officially only supported on a Win platform. However, by using a program such as Controllermate, you can get all the buttons and shift functions working (takes some programming time of course ...) Only thing not working under OS X is the MFD, but that's hardly noticeable.
  13. Greetings, I've been addicted to KSP since April (version 0.18) and was introduced to it by a friend who had been playing the demo. I've always dreamed of a game like KSP ever since I played a very basic rocket sim at the Smithsonian when I was a kid. So of course it didn't take long for me to buy the game. Until now I was more of a forum-reader than a poster, but I finally decided I should put in my 2-cents. Talk to you soon!
