  1. The name of the game is “What is it?” The rules: 1. Player 1 posts an image of an item with 0 information given as a hint. Below the image they then ask: What is it? 2. No reverse image searches, please keep guesses fair. 3. Anyone who knows what the item is may confirm the answer upon a correct guess. After that the person who guesses correctly starts us over with a new item image. 4. All forum rules apply as well. 5.   2. Whenever I see my Betas in KSP Steam, I can see that there are options to go back to 1.4 and before that, so I would like to try those out, because a lot of my favorite mods often work the best in 1.4 and whatnot, but it says I need the right codes to access those betas. Any help?
  3. This may be a bit off topic but please bear with me. When you read this take a second and just look back at the game when you started playing and when the game looked something like this. And now the game we love looks this. And in a bit more time it will look and feel better than this. (Clouds!!!!!, Actual Shiny stuff!!!!!) I'm trying to get the point across that we are a part of something special what has changed around us for the past 9 years, just think about how this game has changed through the years and what is to come. Thank you Squad for this beautiful game and Star Theory for pushing this torch further.
  4. The title says it all- do you have any old rockets that'd you'd be willing to talk about? Your earliest attempts at KSP? Your venerable first lander? This image showcases my Astro series of rockets, which were my earliest rockets. Here I've re-created them and put them on a comparison chart, from Astro 1 to Astro 5. ASTRO 1 The first spacecraft I ever launched reached an altitude of 43 kilometers, before return. ASTRO 2 The Astro 2, powered by two RT10 solid boosters and a sizable amount of duct-taped fins, brought Jebediah to space, at an apoapsis of 122 kilometers. ASTRO 3 Astro 3 was a major step in playing for me. Utilising a basic gravity turn put Astro 3 on a suborbital trajectory which shot Valentina halfway across Kerbin at a max altitude of 267 km. Powered by a BACC booster first stage (with good fins!) and the classic RT-10 upper stage, this was the most advanced rocket yet. ASTRO 4 Astro 4 used the first liquid fueled upper stage I ever built (with an LVT-45, as I hadn't discovered that smaller engines like the Terrier used less fuel). It propelled Val into orbit with the Astro 3 booster stage. ASTRO 5 The last Astro rocket to be built was a fully liquid fueled monster, which took Jeb to the Mun. Still using the LVT45 upper stage, it proved to be very tight on fuel margins, especially for the Mun flyby, after which there were only 29 m/s left in the tank!
  5. The title says it all: how were you first introduced to KSP? And got you hooked so much that here you are, in the forum, reading this post? In my case, I am a big fan of management and simulation games. At one point I was playing Minecraft and I was on the internet searching for games similar to Minecraft. Came across a website that described KSP as 'The Minecraft for Rockets and Space' and the rest is history. I've been playing KSP intermittently since 2014. My steam account says I've accrued 113 hours (actual number should be higher, considering sometimes I'm offline and excluding the hours I've spent playing the earlier non-Steam versions). Every now and then my work would take me away from KSP up to months, but this is the one and only game that I keep finding myself coming back to.
  6. Who misses good ol' .12 or .13? Who misses the old ragged Kerbin and Mun, the Original Three smiling or screaming in stop motion and Munar orbital insertion depending on luck? The sweet sound of air whooshing as your Vanguard shuttle reenters the atmosphere of Kerbin? Post your nostalgia screenshots, cinematics and mission reports here!
  7. This has actually been an ongoing debate within the fanbase of the StarFox games. The system in the game, Lylat, provides some very interesting planets with their orbits largely a mystery. The biggest mystery, however, is this: What the heck is Solar? The generally accepted explanation is that Solar is a red dwarf acting as Lylat's binary companion, but many fans argue that it is, in fact, a superheated planet due to the rocks and other solid materials on it. I have my own theory that Solar is a cool white dwarf, and sectors X, Y, and Z are its planetary nebula. The sectors' names come from the same nebula appearing as different letters from different angles. Maybe it's called "Solar" because its our own sun that died, leaving humans extinct and the various animals to rule the system... somehow... Yeah, it never really explains that, does it? I've actually been working on my own new theories of the Lylat System now that StarFox Zero has been released, introducing some new canon. Since Solar doesn't appear in SF Zero, I've taken a bit of creative freedom with it. I've renamed it "Solran" in my Universe Sandbox recreation of the Lylat System that I'm working on to make it sound more like an actual name as opposed to an adjective, and it's a good-sized red dwarf. I'm going as far as making Lylat a triple star system with planets like Sauria and Cerinia orbiting the third star, a yellow main-sequence star called "Mysteria." To keep my white dwarf theory, I even came up with a separate system altogether: the "Solaris" System. It consists of Solaris, the white dwarf, Venomia, the original planet Venom before it was reimagined as a large space station, Ryolen, a lot like Eladard from the unreleased StarFox 2 (I've reimagined Eladard as a habitable planet orbiting Solran), and the Hypermass, a planetary-mass black hole. ---------- I sort of went wild with this. StarFox is my childhood nostalgia. I'm even going as far as reimagining the entire StarFox universe to make it more "feasible" in an odd fan-fiction type thing. It involves changing the characters into more believable species instead of corny anthropomorphic animals. I'm just that nerdy...
