  1. Hey, I'm having a performance issue on Windows 10, 64 bit, modded KSP (~20 mods), available memory 8 GB. I have recently "upgraded" from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 10 64 bit. (Before the update, when I launched the game it used around 4.5 GB memory and it run smooth.) Now on Windows 10 64 bit it only uses 3.6 GB (~4GB) and I get stutter and long in game loads, very similar as before the Unity 5 / 64 bit upgrade for KSP. I triple checked that I run KSP 64 bit version, Windows 10 64 bit version and I did not changed anything in my hardware. Please help!
  2. Hi , Ill try my best to explain what is happening as best I can. My CPU is an AMD - FX-8350 , which is an 8 core CPU clocked at 4.0 Ghz (all specs below) When i run KSP 1.1.2 in 64bit , it runs smoothly for about 5 minutes. Then in my task manager KSP uses more and more CPU over time, untill it finally reaches over 90%. When this happens, my framerate drops from the locked 60fps , to below 10. and if i try to tab out while my CPU is being used so much everything else is extremely slow. Things I have ruled out: 1.Updated all drivers 2.Fresh install with no mods and nothing from any previous install ( example : brand new save games etc) 3.CPU temperature: my CPU even on 100% load never goes above 60 degrees c 4.Not another program using CPU as in the task manager, Ksp is using over 85% alone 5.lowered all settings(even resolution) from what i would normally play on , to stupidly low settings 6. decreased max physics-delta frame per second to the lowest possible number 7. disabled things in the general settings tab such as: Show space centre crew, temperature gauges , thermal highlights 8 set max persistent debris to 0 9.disabled run simulation in background 10. Tested all day in 32 bit and KSP's CPU usage was never above 10% 11.Nothing is overclocked and nothing in my PC is failing or broken. My Specs: CPU: AMD FX-8350 GPU: AMD HD 7770 Ghz edition RAM: 16 gb ( 2 1x8 gb corsaire vengeance) MOBO: ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0 SSD : SAMSUNG 120 Gb HDD: 500gb Please help , i have submitted a bug report 28 Days ago , posted on Toms hardware , on a KSP facebook group , contacted KSP . I have literally tried EVERYTHINGG!!!! I dont know how to send my Log files and my DxDiag , i have them available just unsure how to on the forums
  3. So I am trying to open KSP 1.1.3 in 64 bit however it never gets to the regular loading screen. I opened the launcher and hit launch it asked me to allow KSP_x64.exe to run, I clicked yes and it opens to this blank window with just the word loading:http://imgur.com/PvA4gGB 32 bit KSP works fine but I want to make use of 64 bit KSP any suggestions? BTW this is the first time I have tried running 64 bit on the PC(it has a 64 bit CPU and OS)
  4. So, with today's grand update I was curious and took a look in the folder and saw the reinstatement of the sixty four bit executable. So I am curious if people have given it a go and how stable it is. I know the last outing into 64bit was pulled...so I am curious about what people find out.
  5. Hello First let me say I have no idea what I am doing but I am not a dumb ass. So my problem is that right now during launch with mods I am getting 0 to 2 FPS and time at normal speed but its running 11 seconds actual to 1 game time. So I am wondering if there is anything that can help me in anyway possible. Now I know most of you are going to say build a smaller rocket but I have a bet running on this and I dont want too anyways. Its 1288 parts sorry. I have tried 64bit mods in windows and Linux but none of them have worked at all or at least dont let me use more of the computers resources. The list of 64bit mods I have tried are listed bellow and even when I use the KSP 64 bit "beta?" from the start menu I get the same problem and shows in the task manager as 32bit. Now honestly I have no idea why I downloaded most of these and will be removing some of them but crucial ones would be all the Space X, Space Y and MechJeb because I am still learning space flight. Now the mods I am running may be part of the problem but I have tried to fly my rocket with no mods installed and got the same result as with them installed. The list of mods I have are the following: Space X Brage lander 1.0, SpaceX Landing Legs 1.0.2, SpaceY-Lifters-1.11.2, SmokeScreen-2.6.13.0, MechJeb2-2.5.6.0, SpaceShuttleEngines-2.2.0, AdjustableLandingGear-v1.2.0, SixSeatMk3cockpit-1.0.4.2, KerbalKonstructs-0.9.5.2, CommunityResourcePack-0.5.0.0, SpaceY-Expanded-1.1.5, KlockheedMartian-Gimbal-3.0.7.0, ModuleManager-2.6.20, InterstellarFuelSwitch-Core-1.18, SixCrewScienceLab-1.0.4.1, BDAnimationModules-v0.6.2: For my PC usage I am using about 1.5 GB out of my 16 GB and only 8% max on the CPU. For my PC I am running windows 10 and specs are the following: 5960x @ 4.2 ghz, 16GB of 2400mhz quad channel DDR4, GTX980, and a SSD. I need help in anyway possible so I can see my rocket fly. I would add pictures but the form wont let me. Thank you for your time Alex, Ablecoh, Bishop
  6. DISCLAIMER: I did not came up with this method. I found it on Reddit (see this topic). I just want to share it here. Thanks to Reddit user sq10 for sharing. So, you are playing on Mac OS X and you can't use many mods because there's no OpenGL trick and the game crashes around 2,7 GB of RAM usage? You have to turn down your texture resolution? That's the fix for you! Original post from user q10 on Reddit: MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR CURRENT INSTALL OF KSP FIRST! First, get the Mac version of Unity 4.6.4, download it from https://unity3d.com/ After downloading and installing it, right click the Unity app and 'Show Package Contents' - the first file you will need to get is in Contents/Playback Engines/MacStandaloneSupport/Variations/macosx64_nondevelopment_mono, click 'Show Package Contents' again and go to Contents/MacOS. Copy 'UnityPlayer' from the UnityPlayer app and go to Contents/MacOS/ in the KSP app, remove the 'KSP' file inside the folder and copy the file you copied from the UnityPlayer application and rename it to 'KSP'. Then, go back to Contents/ in the KSP app and go to the 'Frameworks' folder and delete 'MonoEmbedRuntime', replacing it by the 'MonoEmbedRuntime' from Contents/Frameworks in the UnityPlayer application. Next, go to Contents/Data/Managed in the UnityPlayer application and copy UnityEngine.dll to Contents/Data/Managed in the KSP application, replacing the previous dll. Finally, go to Contents/Data/Managed/etc/ in the KSP app and delete the mono folder, and copy the mono folder from /Contents/Data/Managed/etc/ in the UnityPlayer application to /Contents/Data/Managed/etc/ in the KSP application. I hope the instructions weren't too unclear and please let me know if I did something wrong somewhere! With this 64 bit modification, I am able to run EVE and Astronomer's Visual Pack with no problem and 64 bit vanilla KSP just feels much smoother. Also from my personal observation, FAR, DRE and Kerbal Joint Reinforcement seem to work fine and I do no get any error messages for using a 64 bit version of KSP. Thanks for reading! Keep launching those rockets! ~sq10 And the best think is that it works! I've tried it with around 60 mods installed on KSP 1.0.5 and with loaded 700+ parts vessel. This is the result. Played for about 1hr and no crashes. As the forum user said, I used Unity 4.6.4 and not other 4.6.x version. Nothing more to say. Hope you enjoy!
