  1. What is this? This visual enhancement pack strives to give your stock system a facelift, with realistic clouds and atmospheres. What Currently has Enhancements? As of now, Kerbin, Eve, Duna, Laythe, and Jool all have Visual Enhancements be it clouds, atmosphere effects, or city lights (in Kerbin's case). Known Issues: Scatterer also has a few small bugs that I'm sure will be ironed out in the future. Is not compatible with other visual packs, unless stated otherwise in the OP. I WILL NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE ME WITH AT LEAST YOUR OUTPUT.LOG AND A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR GAMEDATA FOLDER. change log Adjusted all scatterer atmospheres (probably won't tell the difference) Added clouds and scatterer support for OPM (will disable when OPMVO is installed) Made atmosphere transition a little better without Scatterer installed (requires Kopernicus) Made Laythe more turquoise to differentiate more from Kerbin TO INSTALL: Download and install Stock Visual Enhancements https://github.com/Galileo88/StockVisualEnhancements/releases Download and install SVE Textures https://github.com/Galileo88/StockVisualEnhancements/releases/tag/1.0.8 Download and install Environmental Visual Enhancements (NOT THE CONFIGS) https://github.com/WazWaz/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/releases Download and install the latest Module Manager http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/50533-130-module-manager-280-may-26th-2017-better-late-than-never Optional (recommended mods) Kopernicus (required for Jool rings to work) https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases Scatterer https://github.com/LGhassen/Scatterer/releases PlanetShine https://github.com/PapaJoesSoup/ksp-planetshine/releases Distant Object Enhancements https://github.com/MOARdV/DistantObject/releases If you are still experiencing any lag from the volumetric clouds, open the EVE GUI (alt+0) and look for the cloud layer you want to change in the cloud manager. Scroll down until you find the layerVolume section of the GUI and change the visibleRange value from 10,000 to a lower number i.e. 8,000/5,000/2,000 until you get the performance you are looking for. Thank you @Waz for this wonderful feature. Downloads Latest Version v1.4.0 Configs Textures Also Try: Stock Visual Terrain http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/143828-stock-visual-terrain/#comment-2676888 SVE is licensed by CC BY-NC-ND Want to contribute to my coffee fund?
  2. hi everyone, i try to install city lights with SVE for almost a week now and tried many different configs\textures but all the time the final result is a flickery mess i can't stand. i am not considering myself a modder and i'm probably lacking some knowledge so if anyone can shed me some light on what should i do to make it work properly i'd be hella happy;) also i think it's important to mention that i managed to get it to work a couple of times and even launch the game multiple times without this problem but the next day it's all the same. i am losing my sanity here
  3. This is the ground textures mod for any STOCK game. It is developed to work best along side Stock Visual Enhancements. This mod adds ground textures to ALL celestial bodies within the STOCK SOLAR SYSTEM and makes scatter objects tangible. Here are some comparative screenshots of the scaled space textures in v2.0, courtesy of @RadGH Comparative Scaled Space Screenshots SVT v2.2.0 Change log Update for 1.6.1 Fixed mountain texture issue Added the workaround to fix black terrain with Sigma Dimensions If you don't want rocks, trees, cactus' and other scatter objects to be solid, remove the "EnableColliders" cfg in the SVT/configs folder. REQUIREMENTS: KOPERNICUS https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases DOWNLOAD SVT To install: 1. Install Kopernicus https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases and drop into your GameData folder. 2. Drop the SVT folder into your GameData folder. This mod is licensed CC BY-NC-ND Thank you to @Avera9eJoe and @Endraxial for the awesome scaled space planet textures. (that's half of this mods awesomeness!) If you would like to help keep my motivation up, please donate. Any amount Is amazing, really!
  4. Fortunately for that there are the mods! Although my computer-potato doesn’t handle very well Kerbal Konstruction and Kerbin Side ... anyway I would like to be recommended names for the "cities" that appear in the excellent lands textures courtesy of Galileo and his SVE. To fulfill the appetite for images, I made some maps and a little analysis of those lights in Kerbin's night. In my "Kanon" the population of kerbals is about 10 million distributed in 141 cities. There are 36 major cities (Red), some 24 medium-sized cities (yellow) and 81 small cities (blue). Of these 141, 90 are in the grasslands, 31 in the shores, 11 in the deserts, 8 in the badlands and 2 in the highlands. No cities are visible on islands, mountains, the tundra or in the polar regions. I also noticed the absence of cities in this area, which could be an indication of some social or environmental event in Kerbin's history. That's it, choose cities (they are numbered) and propose names if you wish. Also comment if you want to continue adding these maps, for some reason I find it entertaining to make them
  5. Hi all, I recently installed SVE and EVE, but had issues with city lights showing up where they shouldn't, including on the Mun. So I tried removing all mods by deleting everything except the Squad folder from the GameData folder, but the issue is still there. There is a constant black spot with city lights below my spacecraft, along with strange terrain glitches when I land. I tried deleting all files and then re-installing KSP from Steam, but that didn't work either. Some other things I've tried: -Restarting computer -Creating a new save -Checking the log files for anything related to EVE. I didn't see anything. Here's ksp.log: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UgwscIqz2vif4znwUJSmPkBN7eOSnClE And here is player.log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VwdNmZdtk8fs51sDC0jdBh86yY-hZShC/view?usp=sharing Any ideas?
  6. I want to get some good clean screen shot comparisons of the two so I get a idea of what I want. (It's hard to see comparisons on the images and stuff.)
  7. How do you have your visual mods and configs set up? I have my mods set up in a fairly standard way. Environmental Visual Enhancements / Stock Visual Enhancements Distance Object Enhancements KSP Post Processing Pack (cfg file: https://pastebin.com/nuQNVkQ2 )
  8. I was getting no error message until I reinstalled stuff for something else. Now I get this error. So in my modded KSP 1.3.1 install, I was having issues with invisible terrain, so I removed all mods and readded them manually one by one until I found the issue to be with kopernicus (update to the latest version, kopernicus 1.3.1-9, fixed it). After replacing the rest, however, kopernicus gave this error on the start screen, and I would get an endless load screen when trying to start any game. Reverting to previous kopernicus didn't fix it, and after removing and replacing mods one by one again, I found the issue to be with SVE and OPM. The game would work fine if I included all mods except the SVE folder. Same if I included all (including kopernicus) but the OPM folder. However, with just SVE, OPM, and their dependencies, I get the same kopernicus error and I can't figure out why or how to fix it. It's driving me mad, as I have to choose between OPM and clouds now... I'm running KSP 1.3.1, kopernicus 1.3.1-9, OPM 2.2.1, EVE 1.2.2-1, and SVE 1.3.0.4 with low res textures. Here's my output_log, and my gamedata folder looks like this.
  9. I used to have graphic mods (EVE and SVE in that case) that worked fine but I had to delete them as I updated KSP to 1.3.1. I've been trying to install these mods back, but with no success so far. When I install EVE and SVE into GameData, no patches are applied to KSP. When I install EVE and EVE configs, Kerbin looks fine in the main menu (clouds) but when I play, a white orb covers Kerbin...
  10. I took a hiatus from making KSP cinematics due to video card issues. The game was playable, mostly, but not capable of consistent FPS. That's all fixed now. I'm back. For a test, I figured a pole-to-pole Kerbal rover trip might be a good start. I have more interesting ideas for much more ambitious cinematics but for now I'm happy with this. Details about mods are in the video description. Enjoy!
  11. I hope someone can help me sort this out. I am running a stockish V1.3 and the only mods are helpers such as kerb-eng, mech jeb etc and visual enhancements. I wanted to upgrade the appearance of the game and it was working fine until I did that. I followed the recommended list of visual upgrades that one of the dev's had on his page. Of course drawing blank on who that was lol. After installing stock visual enhancements with low resolution textures, Distant Object 1.9, Planet Shine, module manager 2.8dll, EVE 1.2.2.1. and scatterer 0.0300. The first issue was the Planetshine is not compatible with V1.3. That was the only warning or error message. When playing the mods all seem to work fine. There is a noticeable visual improvement of course. The problem shows up in the behaviors of any solar panels. They will deploy and track but will never show any charging at all. All solar panels now have this behavior. So to play the game I have to enable unlimited electricity. What I am hoping is that someone knows which part of the mods might be the root cause of this. I would still like to use as much of that list as I can so I haven't just deleted the mod files to "fix". I had noticed a error in the debug when I was enabling the electricity. I think it was talking about an unregistered object.
  12. Hi, I'm not new to KSP, but I'm still having troubles. I want my planets to look like in Matt Lowne's videos. But it's obviously not as simple as just enabling EVE, Scatterer, etc on CKAN. The mods I'd like to use are: EVE, SVE, SVT, and Scatterer. I don't really care about any other mods, I simply want my universe to be moar realistic that the lame stock planet graphics. So, when I enable EVE followed by Scatterer, I get the realistic atmosphere look I wanted. But when I go to enable SVE, the "Apply changes" button is grayed out. If I enable SVE first, it says it includes EVE, however when I do this I get SVE but still have the lame atmo-less look to Kerbin, Eve, and Jool. This is just one example. Then we have stuff like: "SVT (for Windows)", and "SVT-High Res". No indication of what the differences are, what dependencies they have, if they are compatible with SVE, etc. I have Windows, and I want High res. But it won't let me pick both! How on earth do I know which to use? And what does it mean when one of the mods in the list turns red for a second? For each mod, it seems there are several secondary "config" and "component" mods with them, and others I have to select from. I have no clue which of them to pick! This is probably part of my problem. This is all very annoying because every time I have to update KSP or build a new install, I have to remember all the same stuff I did last time... before I realize it looks totally different than last time! (Why can't they just make standard things like good visual mods stock?) Now before you suggest it, yes, I know I can just download the individual mods and apply them one by one. Problem is, I can't get the mods to work out correctly seeing as some parts of them override each other. I also don't have the time to be re-doing this all over again for every update. So I use CKAN, for no other reason than that! Can someone help me understand what all these little mods alongside SVE, Scatterer, EVE, etc are, and tell me what I need to do in order to enable all the main mods at the same time? Thanks
  13. Okay, I'm having a issue with SVE and EVE. I've installed everything your supposed to, (even the recommended mods), and the EVE clouds won't show up. Only the scatterer atmosphere. I've installed the regular SVE itself and the textures itself. I have reinstalled modulmanager. I have installed EVE on it's own without SVE. The EVE I installed is also NOT the config one, as stated in the github. I have a Dell XPS 8700, with a Intel i5-4460 core, and I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, if that information will help at all. Does anybody know what's going on, or what am I doing wrong?
  14. This mod plans to bring RSS to stock size This mod is a WIP so bugs are expected What does it do? Makes all the bodies stock size, so yes, Kerbin size. Is it compatible with Eve and Scatterer? Yes! Both are included in the download! The sunflare used in this pack is from this mod: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/138919-112-11-galileos-sun-flares/ License is CC-BY-NC-SA-4.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Donate to the " Get me a new computer fund" https://www.paypal.me/sDaZe Anything helps, thanks! DOWNLOAD HERE! https://github.com/Galileo88/SSRSS/releases You also need to download RSS Textures, Sigma Dimensions and Kopernicus for this mod to work! RSS Textures - https://github.com/KSP-RO/RSS-Textures/releases Sigma Dimensions - https://github.com/Sigma88/Sigma-Dimensions/releases/tag/v0.6.1 Kopernicus - https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases/tag/release-1.2.2-2 PLEASE DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE ANY OF THE TEXTURES INCLUDED IN THIS PACK WITHOUT ASKING FOR PERMISSION KNOWN ISSUES: - Clouds do not show up in main menu - Scatterer (atmospheric haze) does not show up in main menu or in tracking station - Small amount of "z fighting" between ocean and land on Earth. I'm working on a fix. To get the correct look for the Moon, you MUST install the optional RSS-Textures included in the DL ChangeLog: 2.0.3 - Updated city light textures ( Day and night) - Updated Mars's Scatterer - Made Mars's Clouds better - Updated Jupiter's Auroras - Updated Saturn's storms - Updated terrain level for all bodies - Updated Auroras for Earth - Updated Earth's clouds - Fixed timewarp issues around Titan - Updated the cloud shadows on Earth to make them more realistic and you should get better FPS - Fixed other minor bugs - Updated the sunflare - Updated Earth's Ocean 2.0.4 - added 6 hour kerbal days - Better SVE performance - Added Ground textures to all bodies (WIP) - Reduced download size - Other little fixes
  15. Depreciated. Please go to the official release page HERE
  16. THIS THREAD IS FOR THE DISCUSSION OF CROSSING THE SVE AND KSPRC VISUAL PACKS TOGETHER INTO A COMBINED VISUAL OVERHAUL. DO NOT POST FILES CONTAINING A COMBINED PACK AS YOU WILL BE VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THE LICENSE USED FOR KSPRC. _________________________________________________ First of all you have to understand what each mod is aiming to do, understand the contents of the packages and how they work... To combine these mods, u basically have to delete the config of one of these mods and give your gamedata the other one. (its not rocketscience, really! ;)) Since I don’t want to discuss each config & feature provided, I’ll just stick to the most common mixtures out there, namely replacing KSPRC’s Scatterer or/and EVE(clouds) config with the one coming with SVE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Best way to get this running is starting from the scratch: Cleanup your gamedata folder of all configs for one of the above named mods. Especially the BoulderCo folder(http://i.imgur.com/yOtSmgL.png) beeing is the “stock” EVE config provided by @rbray89. Forgetting this is one of the most common mistakes. You should start then by copying the whole KSPRC folder into your gamedata – we can delete things later. Just don’t forget anything. Start KSP and make sure the config is working => quit Scatterer: Since SVE is just coming with a config for Jool & Eve, you can easily copy and replace the scatterer folder form the SVE -archive over to your gamedata. That would keep KSPRC’s config for everything else. If you want to remove the sunflare, feel free to delete the folder Gamedata/scatterer/sunflare Atmospheric (clouds): that’s the most common thing ppl want to replace. You just have to remove the configs in the KSPRC-folder first. Namely it is: - KSPRC\Atmospheres - KSPRC\CityLights After cleaning those folders, you are free to copy the Folder StockVisualEnhancements over to your gamedata. It basically just providing other configs of what u just removed. Addon (KSP1.1.3+): the current KSPRC version comes with an incompatible Kopernicus version. You can fix this by going to the Kopernicus -thread and get the current version. For further updates, please first check all the named components for updates before asking why any of these compilations wont work Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And thats what u get: Thanks @Speadge for the how-to!
