This is the "theoretical" kind as in "theoretically, you can drink snake venom and it will exit your digestive system without harm, by nature of being a venom, and not a poison"—best left as a theory.

Sounds like a very kerbal means of testing for an ulcer.  If you drink venom and die, you have an ulcer (or any other tiny surface damage along your entire digestive system).

Or a great medieval way to test witchcraft.

If you survive drinking venom, you're obviously a witch and you'll be burned at the stake.
If you don't survive drinking venom.. you're not a witch! :D

There will always be enough oil for rockets due to Unconventional Oil Production- at least for the foreseeable future.

The Soviets used to load Soyuz launchers with Synthene (which is, uh, synthetic) with no change to the systems.
