Crashing on Right Click

Recommended Posts

KSP Version: Kerbal Space Program - 1.0.2.842 (WindowsPlayer) Steam

Explanation: Any time I right-click a craft, the game crashes without an error. This happens in the VAB, SPH, Launch Pad and any flights that are in progress. The game just crashes to desktop, there is NO "KSP.exe has stopped working" message. When checking event logs, there is no message saying it crashed. I've tried a fresh install, verifying game cache, trying a new save, running in Win7 compatibility mode, running as administrator and tried running KSP with all settings set to minimum in windowed-mode.

Screenshot: A screenshot is not relevant in this case, as it happens with any part, anywhere with any craft.

.Craft File: Also not relevant in my case.

Windows 10 64-bit

Intel Core i7 4770k @ 3.5Ghz

nVidia GeForce GTX 970 Super Clocked with latest drivers

16GB DDR3 RAM

2 TB free HDD Space

This could be the mouse polling issue that has been seen on Linux, basically if your mouse has been set to a very high DPI it causes a problem with right click in KSP.

Try turning down your mouse DPI to 800 or below, this will be different from one mouse to another so you will need to check your owners manual.

I've found the issue: EVGA Precision X 16. Thankfully the last crash actually generated a Windows Event Log. This led me to PrecisionXServerHooks.dll_unloaded. After exiting Precision X, the issue disappeared. I thank you for your support in this matter, and suggest this program be added to the incompatible programs list.

  • 1 year later...

EVGA has a new version XOC-- for monitoring and adjusting their video cards this would mean yours is a evga 970?.

I have this and they work on my system which is similar in spec to yours

FYI

Jammer

also this is a windows 10 thing from what I have seen.
