Find out more about KSP on PS4 here, from our very own Maxmaps!

And find out what HarvesteR has been up to with Unity5!

What? Why consoles? And along with that, why focus on PS4 (when I doubt very much so that many people want it on a console in the first place) when there is still unbalanced aero, and bugs? Unity 5, and 64 bit? Also, this isn't really a devnote.

These are the devnotes? They lied and said they'd be late and instead they're just not coming? So still no info on 1.0.3. Still nothing on the memory leaks. Just dead silence from Squad for the last month after lots of talk of fixing reheating, drag, and memory leaks in 1.0.3? Wow. I know they're kind of standoffish with the community but man. I guess we can assume no more fixes until 1.1. (Or 1.1.2 etc :) )

That's excellent news!

That's great and all but what about the existing game, the existing bugs, your existing customers?

Firstly, why talk about bugs before KSP1.0.3 is out and we know what, if any, bugs remain?

Secondly, Unity 4 runs on Playstation, so porting it will be relatively easy. It can be hoped that doing so will create a disproportionately large additional revenue stream which will provide funds to support the debugging of KSP for everybody. And that's assuming Squad do the porting, for all you know it may be a company who specialises in coding for Playstation (and has a relationship with Sony, which makes the process easier). In which case - no coding work for Squad, just extra dosh.

Finally, this is advance hype. Note that there is no date mentioned and no details about retail outlets etc, so it is likely that this signals a firm agreement to proceed and that (whoever does the work) the actual porting isn't due to start for weeks or months. Plenty of time for Squad to work on patching and fixing.

EDIT: My points answer several other excessively negative comments. More cash means more scope for future development. And who cares if the Playstation can't cope with KSP as we know it? (I must admit I would like some you know, actual dev notes. An announcement like this really ought not replace our time-hallowed traditions. We have an Announcements forum for that!)

three things 1. most of the people on this board are computer guys/girls who already own ksp. 2. its a one line item devnote with no news other then an console platform is getting ksp. Nothing that concerns the people that currently use these forums. 3. consoleization of a game is rarely good news to any pc player as it usually means the game interface/play systems will be minimized(handicapped) to work on a limited platform.

I was hoping for an explanation.... You can't just announce something that everyone is unsure about and not explain...

I don't get it. Your join date says 2013. You've got nearly 3k posts, reputation out the wazoo.

And you act like you've never seen Squad act like this before?
