Mainline Warships
A modern line of craft built to work as effectively in live multiplayer combat as in traditional.

Spoiler

DGFknl1.gif

The Wilson program began in mid-2015 as a short test of the effectiveness of combat ships in live multiplayer. Growing from one large dreadnought design to a fleet in a matter of weeks a need was seen to revise the design and pursue this concept further. These ships of the 3rd generation were the first to be dubbed SIC as to differentiate them from the still ongoing PTV line. In late 2015 1.0.5 featured a number of new parts including the vector engine and MK3 cargo ramp, these new features called for changes to be made to the line. It became quickly clear that the range of ships in the line would be greatly hindered by having to fit into cargo bay profiles, as an outcome the existing designs were retrofitted with fully winged hulls as well as a number of other improvements. Though only one design of the 4th generation would be carried through it would become the basis of the whole line. At this time the Broadsword design would be brought in and modified to serve in the line and would also serve as a basis for other ships. The 5th generation ships would prove capable in both real-time and turn based combat pushing the decision to discontinue any additions to the PTV line. A number of factors gave way to the creation of the 6th generation, attempts at minimizing heat generation, visible profile, and durability. The 6th generation became little more than a bridge between the 5th and 7th due to little cohesiveness and many experimental concepts. The seventh generation Features a complete fleet overhaul, plate under-armor for heavy combat ships, crew escape pods, as well as more efficient part and fund management at the cost of range at a 20% reduction and twr at a 15% reduction. The 7th generation is the first to hold the STV designation as a notice of the line now serving as primary combatant in both live and turn based multiplayer. Gen 8 began a focus on higher build quality and greater standardization and saw the eventual retirement of the Broadsword.

Spiritwolf
A number of ships produced for HatBat's Spirit of Kerbin film.

Spoiler

A few ships produced for HatBat's Spirit of Kerbin cinematic. Although sadly these ships never saw use they are capable warships and are all built in a way to best emulate if they were
built by the same makers are those seen in the original series.
-Hawk; A Spiritwolf Destroyer built in the same style as the Harbinger class.
-Spirit of Laythe; An open air light carrier. Built to lug both a pair of isprits and a refuel silo to Laythe.
-Harbinger; A more combat oriented cousin of the big and scary Vanguard class. Smaller, lighter, and built for the current version
-Isprit Mk9; An update and upgrade of the beloved Isprit design.
-Hersier; A Hanlan destroyer based upon the Grendel design, in the years since the battle of laythe destroyers have risen to dominance and the Hersier stands strongly among them.
-Shade Mk3; An update to the highly functional Shade platform, the bane of spiritwolf
As well as a Spiritwolf Ike base produced in a similar fashion for Macey during his brief return.

Awesome! Will all the PTV ships be updated?

:D

If you're asking if they're up to date, yes. Any which aren't would be found in the scrapyard.

If you're asking if they'll be updated with MP, probably not. Some of them date their line back to 2013 and they just won't stand up well outside of turn based combat. They'll be given a signoff and will promptly join the others in the scrapyard eventually...probably*

*unless the turn based community stays alive, which I will try to keep it.

It needs some work but I think the next in the Sigma line is on the right track.

I think that opening sequence was kind of like a gift or something.

Nope. Suestra and I were originally making a continuation film, called Spirit of Kerbin, and planning a cinematic series: so we had Spartwo make ships for us. In a strange twist and a long story Macey ends up coming back. He's cool with the film but later decides that he'd rather do it himself and without my assistance. So I had to abandon the project, and the ships ended up not getting used. Though it is fair to say that the opening sequence was something of a gift, as Macey accepted it as canon and part of the show.

It's only an engine swap but the sub-capital craft of old fit seamlessly into next gen fleets.

One thing, you just reduced the range ALOT! the thing is gonna be inefficient, but if you have both (Efficent model and SPEED model), that would be nice, for fuel ;)
