"Assigned" tourists I can't find

So I had 2 contracts for 6 tourists who wanted to go on a suborbital flight, I made it to suborbit and got the check mark for all of them for that stage of their itinerary, I had a hard landing and the engine blew up but the rest of the craft appeared to be fine. I recovered it, but it didn't give me any "mission complete, crew recovered, money stuff" popup. 1 of the 2 contracts disappeared completely but the other still shows as active and partly completed. This is the weird part, from my save file:

Only mod is mechjeb, which I'm about 95% sure isn't causing this.

I think the tourists should get a line like "0 = Recover" by the end of their FLIGHT_LOG. It's almost as if they weren't recovered. Maybe try adding that line. Or simply complete the contract with alt+f12...

Was there a part in the contract saying that the tourists needed to be recovered in a specific location, like the landing strip? Was your plane on it?
