KerbalEdu will get all the updates normal KSP does. KerbalEdu also has full mod support and all the game modes normal KSP does. It only adds features, nothing is removed. It is also (maybe with the exception of some limited time sales) cheaper than regular KSP if you are buying it for a school or other educational institution.

Oh, I didn't know that. It said nothing about being the game with an extension when I looked at it!
