so do I have to mess with the parts to give the historical look like in your Mitsubishi  Zero Video?

My video it's not really a good example of how I'm creating planes, it was my first replica and one of the first planes created with RO, AJE, FAR mods. The video is full of mistakes and non optimal solutions and my first iteration of A6M Zero was far from original look , I improved my skills drastically during last 6 months.

btw. I updated my recent creation, Po-2 got cylinders and new wheels:

More planes soon.

Republic P-47 Thunderbolt

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II era fighter aircraft produced by the United States between 1941–1945. Its primary armament was eight .50-caliber machine guns, four per wing, and in the fighter-bomber ground-attack role it could carry five-inch rockets or a bomb load of 2,500 pounds, more than half the payload of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. When fully loaded the P-47 weighed up to eight tons making it one of the heaviest fighters of the war. The P-47 was designed around the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine which was the same engine also used by two very successful U.S. Navy fighters, the Grumman F6F Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair. The Thunderbolt was very effective as a short-to-medium range escort fighter in high-altitude air-to-air combat but was also adept atground attack in both the World War II European and Pacific Theaters.

And just when i was thinking about making my own Convair B-36 Piecemaker (fully stock and 1:1 scale of course) using a "little" (bout 90 cm wing span) papermodel of the aircraft as reference (Built it about 2 to 3 weeks ago).

And now with 1.1 around the corner, it should be much more doable than before.

Anyway. Well done on all of these crafts, especially on the paint jobs, very nice and clean.

Holy crap, is that papercraft Fiddler's Green's B-36?

These ships are really realistic! If only KSP allowed such texturing to be done in-game and saved.

Yep, the big paper beast itself. Funny enough, it's not even on the more realistic side of paper modelling, it's actually quite simple compared to some models.

And the texturing looks more like it's hand drawn, making it look a little crude.

It is still an awesome model tough.

Yeah, the B-17's texturing looks really cartoony when you compare it to, say, the B-24 or the Lancaster models. And those were a real pain in the ass to build. (Still beginning to get a hold of papercrafting).

Well, good luck on your future builds . I can already promise that it's going to take quite a while to get properly good at it. I have been making them for about 8 years now. But i have been making them caveman/speedy gonzales style using only scissors tape, office paper and hot glue.

Tough as not to waste excess money on expensive tools and materials, and to not waste time waiting for glue to dry, it also allows me to cut all the glue-tabs away witch saves huge time.

This way i can build models in a matter of hours instead of days or even weeks.

Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter aircraft designed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy (USN) service. The Hellcat competed with the faster Vought F4U Corsairfor use as a carrier based fighter. The Corsair had significant issues with carrier landings which the Hellcat did not, allowing the Hellcat to become the Navy's dominant fighter in the second part of World War II, a position the Hellcat did not relinquish. The Corsair instead was primarily deployed to great effect in land-based use by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Although the F6F resembled the Wildcat in some ways, it was a new design, powered by a 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800, the same powerplant used for both the Corsair and the United States Army Air Force(USAAF) Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighters. Some military observers tagged the Hellcat as the "Wildcat's big brother".

The F6F was best known for its role as a rugged, well-designed carrier fighter which was able, after its combat debut in early 1943, to counter the Mitsubishi A6M Zero and help secure air superiority over the Pacific Theater. Such was the quality of the basic simple, straightforward design, that 12,200 were built in just over two years.

@winged How do you re texture these? What do I use?

Mostly by converting DDS files to PNG, then opening them in Paint.NET and recolouring. Sometimes I use KerbPaint for that. I'm also creating new textures for the Procedural Tanks mod. Fortunately the wings can be recoloured in game.

I downloaded it ~one year ago when it was availaible on kerbal stuff. Here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/173f2jx8f3s4lwg/AADAwRDZWtj8W9OL0lgmUO2Oa?dl=0

P-47 cockpit is here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mffujtrjc4d6ei7/AABzzSMJOuk8PobcqYrBKa0Ta?dl=0   (note: piston engines from this mod are broken right now but I'm not using them)

Is it possible for these to be downloaded ?

Unortunately not because It would require giving you not only crafts files but also my whole gamedata folder where many parts from various mod makers (and from Squad) were resized, recoloured and adjusted to my needs. As far as I know doing it would be illegal - against the license. you can't share someone's work with your own changes.

I apologise for late answers.

Tupolev Tu-4

The Tupolev Tu-4 (NATO reporting name: Bull) was a piston-engined Soviet strategic bomber that served the Soviet Air Force from the late 1940s to mid-1960s. It was a reverse-engineered copy of the American-made Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-15

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-15; NATO reporting name: "Fagot") was a jet fighter aircraft developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich OKB for the Soviet Union. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful jet fighters to incorporate swept wings to achieve high transonic speeds. In combat over Korea, it outclassed straight-winged jet day fighters which were largely relegated to ground attack roles, and was quickly countered by the similar American swept-wing North American F-86 Sabre. The MiG-15 is often mentioned, along with the F-86 Sabre, as the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War, and among the best fighter aircraft of all time.

When refined into the more advanced MiG-17, the basic design would again surprise the West when it proved effective against supersonic fighters such as the F-105 Thunderchief and McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II in the Vietnam War of the 1960s.

The MiG-15 is believed to have been one of the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made; in excess of 12,000 were manufactured. Licensed foreign production may have raised the production total to over 18,000. The MiG-15 remains in service with the North Korean Air Force as an advanced trainer.

Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-17

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-17) (NATO reporting name: Fresco) (China:Shenyang J-5) (Poland: PZL-Mielec Lim-5) is a high-subsonic fighter aircraft produced in the USSR from 1952 and operated by numerous air forces in many variants. It is an advanced development of the very similar appearing MiG-15 of the Korean War.

The MiG-17 first saw combat in 1958 over the Straits of Taiwan and was used as an effective threat against supersonic fighters of the United States in the Vietnam War. It was also briefly known as the "Type 38, byU.S. Air Force designation prior to the development of NATO codes.

Tupolev Tu-95

The Tupolev Tu-95 (Russian: Туполев Ту-95; NATO reporting name: "Bear") is a large, four-engine turboprop-powered strategic bomber and missile platform. First flown in 1952, the Tu-95 entered service with the Soviet Union in 1956 and is expected to serve the Russian Air Force until at least 2040.[1] A development of the bomber for maritime patrol is designated Tu-142, while a passenger airliner derivative was calledTu-114.

The aircraft has four Kuznetsov NK-12 engines with contra-rotating propellers. It is the only propeller-powered strategic bomber still in operational use today. The Tu-95 is one of the noisiest military aircraft, purportedly because the tips of the propeller blades move faster than the speed of sound.[2] Its distinctive swept-back wings are at a 35° angle. The Tu-95 is one of the very few mass-produced propeller driven aircraft with swept wings.
