Your Best Acronyms!

Launched the ACK (Asteroid Capture Kontraption). It was in solar orbit trying to line up for a correction burn when I realized the solar panels hadn't deployed (software glitch, yeah, that's why, yeah). So I immediately launched "ACK-2, Baby!" to catch and jump-start it. Now I have two ACKs looking for new targets.

Did I say a few? Must have gotten carried away.

Interesting name for a Laythe Satellite, however, I thought LOSS was way more Kerbal:

LOSS - Laythe Oceanographic and Surface Study :)

HELIOS - High Extreme Latitude Imaging Operation Satellite (a bit forced)

POINT - Polar Orbital Imaging aNd Tracking (a bit forced)

LEAP - Ludicrously Efficient Atomic Propulsion

Ok not exactly germain to this discussion but it is the Acronym that was left out of American Pie (the Movie)   And like at East Great Falls (Err East Grand Rapids) NCAA should be used liberally in KSP    No Clue At All!

SSTNFO

Single Stage To, not From Orbit. A craft that performs well on ascent, but tends to lose a couple parts on reentry or landing.

OPR - Orbital Parts Repository. A retired craft not designed to withstand reentry, left in orbit because "the parts might be of use to someone". (they never will, it's just your hoarder's nature and sentiment).

HSVL - Horizontal Start, Vertical Landing. You really suck at landing this airplane, so you put a bunch of parachutes on it.

KAScraft - a spacecraft assembled from spare parts off-Kerbin. The geometries involved tend to be  ...unorthodox.

I only really use acronyms for vessels, so I've included pictorial examples.

LiBKOR: Life Boat - Kerbin Orbital Return (500dV and a probe core clipped in for SAS without pilot)

The additional bits are so that a stack of these can just be shipped and attached to a station for emergencies.

PMV-R: Payload Mobility Vehicle - RCS edition. (4-7T = mass)
