Decoupled parts still with ship

I've noticed several times that parts long since decoupled (like 1/2 a planet away) still will give explosion sounds on reentry and if the craft crashes they are listed as crashing along with the craft.  I looked though the bug-tracker and didn't see anything about this but maybe I was using the wrong search terms.  Anyway they don't seem to interfere with anything, it's just weird to hear explosions when nothing is actually wrong.  In particular I noticed this with some landing struts and other parts (which I don't specifically remember, one was a small fuel tank I think).   Only mod I have is texture replacer which I'm not actually having do anything at the moment.  Any thoughts?

Yes, I've experienced this too, but not thought much of it other than 'Oh s##t what just went bang? Ah it's my fuel tank I jettisoned several km back, that's a bit odd never mind".  It seemed to me as it's more a case of it not realising how far away you are when it explodes, so it doesn't think to turn the volume down to compensate.  But if as you suggest it still treats it as part of the original vessel then that does explain it.
