The machine you listed will do just nicely sir.
FX-43xx is reasonably fast quad-module cpu (but might also look at i3-3220 as a better alternative for about same money though) the video card is somewhat weak - I suggest either RX 470 (or half weaker RX 460) from AMD cards, or GTX 1060 (or half weaker GTX 960).
Also I would make sure that Power Supply is not a "no-name" one, but one of Corsair, FSP, Seasonic, Cooler Master, Enermax or similar.

I prefer Debian Linux (SolydK) , but Windows might do fine.

Hmm. This might actually work.

Does anyone else here remember keying a lunar lander game into their programmable calculator? I'm talking about one with numeric display only (I had an HP-33C) where you input a thrust setting and it calculates a new velocity, altitude, and remaining fuel. It was like a one-D KSP, though the sim speed was around 30 seconds per frame rather than 30 frames per second. I hadn't thought about that in 35 years!  Does that make me geezer?

I found the source code!

*sigh* rpn ... that reminds me of several versions of shooting oneself in the foot in various programming languages ... :-)

The PC-config is fine. If you plan to run Linux i'd take a nvidia graphics card. Windows.
