What do you do in KSP if mech jeb does all of the piloting? Most of the appeal for me is directly controlling the craft, docking myself, intercepting, experimenting and making mistakes.

That said I'm sure people who have been playing for years might be a bit sick of fiddling with RCS moves... but if you are sick of piloting aren't you simply done with KSP (if not for just a break?)

The best I can understand, some people basically just like designing the rockets, but they want MJ to actually fly it for them.

I'm kind of hoping that MJ just dies hahaha. I think people have gotten too used to MJ doing everything for them. Its funny to me thinking about them having to actually play the game themselves again.

Of course thats just me being a punk. At the end of the day I dont really care how people enjoy their own single player games. If having MJ do everything for you is fun for you, go right ahead I guess.

Hey, I like MechJeb. The Apollo missions had autopilot, right? How about the shuttle, hmmm?

Yep. Hell the Mercury missions had autopilot.

Its like someone said on here before tho, without MJ KSP is a game, with MJ its more like a simulation. I think thats basically the difference. Some people want to play it as a game & enjoy piloting their ships themselves & stuff, whereas some people want a full on NASA simulator.

I would say that KSP has three major components of its gameplay: Planning Missions, Designing Craft, and Piloting. MechJeb helps with all three, and can completely handle the piloting if that's something the player doesn't enjoy.

Personally, I'm going to use Mechjeb as a learning tool. Once I watch the computer do it a few times, I think I'll try and copy what it does.

And I'll use it for things that I can't do, IE hovering.
