[1.2.2] Em Drive - Resonant Cavity Thruster

Em Drive

A very small ( < 500KB ) mod including a single 0.625m reactionless thruster, the controversial 'Em Drive'.
The engine requires only electric charge to produce thrust. The stats of this part are roughly similar to that of the ION drive, though requires slightly more electricity and produces slightly less thrust (it also produces a little heat, with an accompanying glow animation).

Despite being quite expensive and sitting at the very end of the tech tree, it of course is completely overpowered, providing potentially infinite ∆v.

Feedback is very welcome.

Enjoy!

Hmm... this doesn't seem like something you'd do! Good job, Beale.

Thanks!

If anybody has 'balance' suggestions I'm open to suggestions. I was considering making it too hot to use for more than a few minutes / without radiators.

@Beale - What about reducing the thrust and size to change its function from "OP Ion drive replacement" to ultra-low-power linear RCS?

Not a bad suggestion, but maybe frustrating?

While creating the part I set the thrust to 0.25kn and it was too frustrating to use for anything (I think something like a 45 minute burn to the moon.).

Yeah, but then players can use the symmetry tool in the VAB to put like 64 of them on the back of the probe and increase the thrust to something reasonable if they're so inclined.

Besides, is anything about resonant cavity thrusters reasonable? Don't they like break newtonian mechanics?

Just put it at the end of the tech tree and let it be OP. :P

I'll put an alternate config in a next version for low-thrust a 'non OP' (still completely overpowered) version.

Heh. The "Newton." I approve.

Guess what the NTL stands for
