Mk 3 Science lab

I'm a huge fan of spaceplanes and SSTOs, and I play KSP stock, parts wise.  One thing I find lacking in the current stock parts list is a science lab that fits a spaceplane form factor.  Sure, you can stuff a science lab inside a Mk 3 cargo bay, but that just adds to part count and complexity and also wastes a bunch of space.  The Mk 3 passenger tank holds 16 kerbals, I don't think it would be too big a stretch to have a science lab version of it.

More generally, IMHO there should be a science lab for 3.75m as well. Oh, and as we're talking "bigger parts"... 3.75m hitchhiker, anyone?

Yes, would like to have a science lab on a SSTO, but could we make it shorter to fit one kerbal and stuff?

A tweakable for this would be nice to have. You would simply right-click on the MK3 passanger module and switch its role to the lab.
