trying to diagonally causes controls to lock up

if this isnt the right place to post this feel free to let me know and ill get rid of it, anyway whenever im driving a rover or flying or even walking, if i try to move the stick diagnolly to say do a maneuver in a spacecraft/ aircraft, or walk diagonally on foot, or turn my rover while still putting power to the wheels the controls completely lock up and i cant do anything, this has caused flying planes and driving rovers or even walking to be a pain, anyone know a way to fix this ?

First and foremost, what console are you on? You didn't specify. It might be a bug in the programming, in which case you should submit this to the Bug Tracker. It may be that this is an issue related specifically to your controller, in which case, I need more information about which console you are using.
