What folder is KSP supposed to install in?

Recommended Posts

I previously downloaded the demo, and have been running it for a little while.  Today I made the choice to buy the program (and it's on sale!).  I have downloaded the installer (the X64 installer for version 1.2.2 for Windows, but it wants to install in the same folder as the demo (and create the same named shortcut).  Is this correct?

I an running Win 8.1 64 bit version.

It should be installing here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program

If it installs somewhere it shouldn't, just uninstall the demo and delete the folders that accompany the demo.

I did the same, but downloaded it to its own folder separate from the demo.

I recommend installing to C:\Games\ on Windows, as that is a folder you create that won't be blocked by Windows permissions.

Please avoid Program Files, even for Steam games it's a bad idea as Windows will lock down the file permissions.
