ScienceAlert not showing up for me??

All,

Is there some trick to get this to show up?  I copied the file 'ScienceAlert' to the following location : F:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData

KerbelEngineer and Squad are the only other things located there.  When I take off my icons are vertical along the top right side but I have seen this mod in videos with other icons horizontal in top right side (at top).  What am I missing?

ScienceAlert hasn't been updated since 1.0.4, use XScience or AutomatedScienceSampler instead.

Tip: To avoid steam auto updating to the next version, and breaking your game. Copy the folder out of the stream directory and use that instead of through steam. 

I wish I could do this with many other games too.
