Skylon's Stuff [SF-1 'Peregrine' added]

I make planes? Of course!

Modded:

SM-1 'Thunder' Fighter Aircraft

This versatile aircraft can be equipped with bombs (it got unstable for some reason on take-off when I equipped bombs), scientific equipment, reconnaissance cameras, and much more for all of your needs. It is equipped by default with two .50 Browning AN/M2 guns and can work at up to 204m/s due to a very powerful engine. It's manoeuvrability is incredible, and had to be limited to prevent pilots going unconscious from the G forces, however if you think you can handle it, feel free to turn it to the max, with the assurance that your warranty is void! This makes it excellent for dog fighting, and is good fun to fly in my opinion.

For the stock+ airplane plus version I have provided ore tank bombs. I haven't tested it extensively though (the stock version).

Action groups:

  1. Toggles engine
  2. Toggles thrust reverser

Mods: Airplane Plus and BDArmoury (or use this BDA-free version)

Album (I'm so glad I installed Camera Tools):

SF-1 'Peregrine' Fighter Aircraft y5FvGgV.png
Designed to be a super-manoeuvrable fighter, it can perform turns that make even Valentina feel sick. It looks and flies great in my opinion, and should maintain level flight when fully fuelled.

Currently unequipped, it can support guns, bombs and other equipment. Top speed of over 875m/s at 9,300m.

Stock (I will borrow @MiffedStarfish's amazing stock weapons for some/most of these, but feel free to add BDArmoury weapons):
Spoiler

SB-1 'Dragonfly' Bomber Aircraft r2epp8I.jpg
This bomber aircraft has three hardpoints for attaching weapons, but comes equipped with four ore bombs as well as two guided missiles (full credit to @MiffedStarfish for making these weapons, they are very effective and well detailed), which can serve as cruise missiles if needed. Rather than a primitive propeller engine, it comes with an effective jet engine, with an afterburner that makes cool red flames come out the back. It's relatively high TWR for a bomber (0.38 or 0.6 with afterburner from standstill at sea level) and rear elevators provide it with excellent manoeuvrability, though some pilots have noted that one 'must be careful not to overdo it' on the turns, or the aircraft may stall or enter a flat spin. As long as you don't pull down too hard on your joystick, or 'hold s for too long' as some have strangely noted, it is quite an agile plane.

The plane can take off from around 70m/s, but don't push the nose up more than ten degrees over the horizon until you are in the air, because the plane is prone to tailstrikes. It has quite a high stall speed, so I wouldn't go below 50m/s. The engines can sustain around 100m/s at 5000m without the afterburner, and over 270m/s at the same altitude with the afterburner. It can of course go faster when diving, and can do around Mach 1.4 once you get the air flowing to the engine. I may add more/bigger intakes to see if it improves the speed

Action groups:

  1. Toggle engine
  2. Switch engine mode
  3. Toggle flaps
  4. Toggle bottom-mounted red light
  5. Drop outer bomb
  6. Drop inner bomb
  7. Fire missile (takes a bit of time to spool up)

Press space to eventually jettison the weapon hardpoints, which can serve as emergency bombs/cluster bombs in a way

Coming next (probably): SM-5 'Thunderbird' bomber escort/fighter aircraft

If there wasn't such a kink in the gull wing, this would be very close

nJWXyMh.pngI suppose this would be a more accurate analogue (the A5M with a gull wing).
