The Final Stand; Ships

Recommended Posts

Okay everyone, so just to keep the "The Final Stand" (Yeah, bad grammar; sue me) hype train going, I'm uploading some of the ships that'll be used! It'll have descriptions, nationality's, and pilot scores, as well as some more info. (I'll maybe put a KerbalX link in; who knows). Without further ado, enjoy!

Spoiler

F-105 Sparrow

The F-105 Sparrow (Nicknamed the 'Spar' by some pilots due to it's increased prevalence in exhibition tournaments between other nations) is an inner-atmosphere fighter and serves the purpose of short-range defense of bases. Due to it's age however (The craft was built during World War K almost 20 years ago), the craft has slowly slipped into the shadows of history, and is now used mainly for the later stages of pilot training (It only has 1 seat), as well as scouting. The vehicle has a balanced payload, with 2 AIM-120 AMRAAM RADAR guided missiles, and 2 AIM-9 Sidewinder Heat-Seeking missiles, as well as 1 Gatling gun at the front nose; the 20mm Vulcan. Each plane is powered by a J-404 Panther engine, which delivers great speed and maneuverability for a fighter of such size. However, due to the nature of the rebellion at hand, the KASA (Kerbin Aeronautics Security Administration) uses the -105 mainly for training and any conflicts that may occur in the atmospheres of other planets. The crafts wing design is highly based off of the original LIF-23 Mirage, a plane that was used in the original HAWX war.

Spoiler

AS-15 Robin

The AS-15 continues the KASA's march to secure the atmospheres. Using a 3-engine combination, the craft is able to get up to a relatively high speed (Around 350m/s) for a Turbofan. With 1 set of front canards, a main wing, and 2 horizontal stabilizers at the rear, the craft is sturdy as a rock on high-G turns. Under the wing, you'll see a retro air intake design. This type of intake was used during the NSK Civil War, but hadn't been used ever since.
The craft has only 1 weapon; the 20mm Vulcan.

Stats

Top Speed: 349m/s

Stall Speed: Around 60-65m/s

Max G's: 21.5 according to the F3 menu, even though the Navball said only like 13

Crew: 1 Pilot

Weapons: 1x Vulcan 20mm gun (Fixed)

Powerplant: 2x J-20 Juno, 1x J-33 Wheesley

Defenses: None

Features: Sharpened wing design (Less drag), Tri-Stabilizer Design (More Yaw preformance), Quad intake mount (Used during the NSK Civil War on the F-23 Cutlass, this design hadn't seen the light of day for almost a century before Wernher tripped over a memorabilia box in his office and saw the design)

Use: Atmospheric Combat

Pilot Score: 7.5/10 "Very good. More weapons (i.e. Missiles) could be added on for protection, as well as countermeasures. A stellar plane to fly. Stable, maneuverable, and somewhat fast. Great combination for a great plane."
