How to make an interstage fairng that doesn't attach the craft to a separated stage

I've been trying to make the SLS Spacecraft Adapter in my mod using  stock fairings, but when I decouple the first stage then, the second stage doesn't separate

What can I do to make it work?

Could you give a little more details on the problem, maybe a screenshot from the VAB? I don't understand what you were doing exactly.

You need a separator just above the fairing in the stack -- otherwise an interstage fairing always remains attached to anything just above it.

I flip the fairing and make the fairing backward.

I actually solved it yesterday because I remembered that my first Mun landers had two stages of different diameters, and they had interstate fairings.  The later missions didn't deploy the fairings, but, what I did was put the fairing deploy stage later in the staging sequence than the ascent stage stage separation.
