KSP Mashup: 3 in 1 meets Shoot for the sun in single mission

Recommended Posts

After partial successes at both 3 in 1 http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=3537.0 and shoot for the sun http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=3008.0 challenges, I decided to combine them and try doing both at once.

Rules for the combined challenge are as in each individual challenge with the following additions/modifications:

  • [li]Stock \'vanilla\' parts only[/li]
[li]The escape velocity probe should be launched from the far side of the sun (beyond 14000M)[/li]

For my attempt, I shamelessly stole Salda007\'s 3 in 1 payload setup, merging it with a seriously overgrown version of boolybooly\'s Podule ship design. The mission logs are given in the following attached pictures.

could you put that ship up for download

I\'m not even sure it\'ll fly in the new version, it was very finicky when I flew it and that was after adjusting the design three or four times before that mission. I kinda rank vanilla designs into three categories based on liftoff to stable orbit performance: graceful - does what you want when you want it; brute force - goes straight up and sideways nothing else works; and finally evil - does what it wants, almost anything you do just makes things worse. This ship is evil.

@azrap1: Thanks :) Now to try a repeat in the new version... if possible lol
