Devnote Tuesdays: No Sleep 'til Kerbalkon

SQUAD

Recommended Posts

After 0.18, this is going to be by far my favorite release.

You remember 0.18?

Probes! Docking! Electricity! 0.675m parts! A total art pass!

Well, now we have:

Tweakables! Science archives! Steerable landing gear! Advanced construction!

I just want magic boulder back. :( Can that be our christmas present, SQUAD?

not to mention Updated VFX :D

I'm definitely looking forward to the Science Archives, after doing a lot of science it gets tricky remembering where you have been before (aside from planting flags on the surface) with the archives i can spend less time realizing I've just gone somewhere I've already been and am getting no science at all.....

it would be nice if the Archives section gave a percentage of completion when filtering by planet.. (so i have goals to strive for)

i think i'll go suggest that in the forums (in before the archive is even a feature :P)

I honestly think, no release will every compare to the hype and feel of 0.18. Or maybe it's just me.

I think this image shows, that Kerbalkon will be during December 12 and 13:

I think this image shows it's the 29th indeed :)

I don't think that web site is made by Squad. It's not even showing KSP TV.

Remember that before release we should be conducting Experimentals.

Wut? There is a link to their twitch page.

Anyway, I agree, I don't think 0.23 is coming today or tomorrow.

Those are obviously some bobble-heads or figuers that they're gonna sell.

Maxmaps confirmed that KerbalKon 2013 will be 12-13 Dec. He did so on the KSPTV stream last Friday (22 Nov.)

Chad (C7): I spent this week working on new module additions and testing the implementation of new features. The landing gear are now steerable and tweakable in the editor. So you’ll be able to steer and taxi aircraft.

Was its physical significance property fixed? because as is it now it messes up most plugins that do mass calculations in the editor, because in the editor landing gear have FULL physical significance but while in flight is NONE.

I'm curious about the implied hybrid SABRE-like engine. What's going to be the balancing factor? Low thrust, low ISP, high mass?

I don't know much about the SABRE engine, but on wikipedia, it says that it has (would have) 3600s of isp in the atmosphere and 460s of isp in vacuum. and a trust between 2000 and 3000 kiloNewtons. and a thrust to weight ratio of 14. seems very nice.
