GPU clocks! (I have done some research and have come up with that the MSI GTX 580 Lightnings are the only GTX 580s to be able to reach these clocks)

How old is your rig?

I just saw this, it\'s a shame not a lot of people posted, I would like to know the average KSP player\'s hardware specs, mainly out of morbid curiosity, but also to know how hard is it safe to push the graphics hardware. Anyway, I\'ll give you my computer specs:

Intel Core i7 980x @stock freq

8GB RAM DDR3 @1600Mhz (Patriot Viper)

120GB Kingston HyperX SSD

nVidia Quadro FX 1800, 768MB GDD3

Seasonic 750W PSU

Cooler Master Centurion 534 case

AMD Phenom II X4 810 processor @ 2.6 gHz

6GB DDR2 RAM

1 TB HDD @ 7200 rpm

ATI Radeon 5450 HD 512MB

The GPU is pretty weak, but everything else is wonderful, even the outdated DDR2 - I have enough of it that it doesn\'t really matter. Snagged this Gateway build for $539 on Tiger Direct.

A quadro? How much did that set you back?

AMD FX-4100 Quad Core 95W 3.6Ghz (will upgrade to an 8 core when second gen bulldozer comes out)

Corsair 8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600Mhz

ASUS M5A99X EVO

MSI GTX 560 ti

Antec Neopower 550watt PSU

Samsung 500 GB HDD

clockspeeds and benchmark:

The CPU I can overclock to 4.1 with a little tweaking, and could probably bring it up to 5Ghz with a better cooling solution. But for the most part I leave it at stock.

GPU:

mUFnD.jpg

That imagine is a little old, I was able to down the voltage a bit and up the memory clock

gUm0k.jpg

Of course I don\'t game at these insane clocks, the stock suits me just fine and gets me 40+ FPS in nearly every game with IQ settings maxed and control panel settings set to highest quality.

Pile-driver is next. technically there is no second gen bulldozer, as it will just change to pile-driver.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulldozer_(microarchitecture)#2nd_Generation

2nd Generation FX-series CPU - Desktop Performance market (Volan platform): Zambezi\'s replacement is Vishera, with up to 8 cores; with Turbo Core 3.0 while using the existing Socket AM3+ format and 9xx series chipset of the 1st generation FX-series Zambezi processor. AMD says that this 2nd-generation FX-series processor would offer up to 20% to 30% better performance increase under digital media workloads. Vishera will continue to use dual-channel DDR3 memory interface. The 2nd generation FX-series is scheduled to be released in Q3 2012 (July to Sept) with the FX-8350, FX-8320, FX-6300, and FX-4320 models.

Something tells me they\'re just releasing the current series with factory overclocks but I\'m going to wait and make sure regardless.

--Minecraft: 24FPS, minimum settings (...?)

Minecraft runs like crap on everyones computers. It\'s a java thing.

It\'s kind of an old model, I got it like two years ago and even then it wasn\'t that recent. If memory serves me right it was like $400-$500.

Ah, not bad for a quadro all things considered, I still believe they\'re not worth the money. The performance benefits they supposedly have seem minimal in comparison to the price you have to pay to gain them.

What I want:

3.3ghz Intel I5 2500k Sandy Bridge

8gb DDR3 240-pin RAM

1gb GeForce GTX 560

2tb 5400rpm SAMSUNG HDD

What I have:

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

4gb 667mhz DDR2 RAN

GeForce 8600M GT

160GB HDD

Big difference, huh?
