Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread

Beginnings of a Sudo-muscle car creature. Top speed of around 160 mph. Incredibly fun to throw around corners and jump over building. Super durable, lots of features. Planning on functional T-top Gullwing doors in the future.

I have been working on a Porsche 918 Spyder recently, much different from my usual aircraft and heavy lifting endeavors.
The spoiler, and jet engines are not stock! :) (Not offered when you purchase a production 918 spyder.)

Craft is completely stock as well, download it here: https://kerbalx.com/He_162/162--Porsche-918-v11

Is it weird that I find night landings easier?  They certainly are prettier.

One of my most favorite things to do in KSP is burn in from space and while coming down on the runway hang closely to the mountains, the feeling is like your there and the sights are fascinating! Haven't done this in a while and talking about it makes me want to do it again!

Everyone build Apollo replicas and i am here sitting and making direct mission

I present you "The Fatman" . Currently undergoing trials in simulations to eliminate all design flaws.

It is RSS + SMURFF , ~20 tons , 2 seats , still around 700 dV left after landing in descent stage so i will add solid science package and a rover

Anyone got a stock B-52? I'm too lazy to build one at the moment.

Those are some beautiful lifting bodies you've got there. Put mine to shame.

As congrats, here's by B-52, all set up to drop lifting bodies and (small) X-15s:

https://kerbalx.com/servo/B-52-Stratofortress-+-X-15

I've also been starting work on a pair of cinematics/videos.

T4VIX5S.png

One features this piece of work. Incidentally, I was recently able to meet the test pilot who flew the F-14s in Top Gun (he went on to fly four shuttle missions), Scooter Altman.

The other features this replica HIIa, a Japanese medium-lift vehicle, as well as a satellite payload. The payload was designed by myself and 30 other high-school students as part of an engineering design camp through NASA.

Oh man I am jealous you get to do that kind of stuff in school

And why not use a jumbo for the H-IIA?

It was an extra-curricular, if that makes it any better. Hair-pulling work, but totally worth it.

Good idea, though I don't want to redo all the video that I cut and edited already. I also got the struts on the SRBs wrong, but I'm in too deep. I'll fix them if I ever release the craft, though.

Building some film props, this one does not work, the Kerbal in it makes it not run properly, so it ranges between not revolving and speeding along ragdolling the Kerbal, this was about the only time I got it to revolve slow enough for the Kerbal to walk for a few seconds

Film it in sections then cut them together. Maybe also try hack gravity and the time slowing mod. May help.

I put it in orbit, but the Kerbal will never stand up in artificial gravity, Squad need to do some work there...lol

Yeah I had a feeling it wouldn't work. What I would do is film a short clip of a kerbal walking then film as if from his/her eyes as you move around the habitat.

I'd like to start recording videos in KSP now that I've got more than a Pentium (Upgraded to a 6 core)

Anyway, what mods would you use (I can do any visual mod, my stuff is beefy enough to take it now) so I'd like some recommendations

Camera Tools, works even if it says for an older version. Kerbal Animation Suite continued, for filming, for visual mods I am using AVP and KSPRC terrain, planetshine, distant object enhancement, Kopernicus, suit packs, head packs, real plume, collisionfx, reentry effects, easier if I post a picture of my mod folder

I've done some very minor and bad filmwork. On those, I've used Scaterrer, EVE, and Camera Tools.

BTW, what program are you going to use to record?

I usually use open broadcaster software (OBS) Studio.

These keep the game more or less stock right? I'm trying to not use modded parts so anyone who wants to can download my craft without having to get mods.

OBS is pretty good. Use it also

Yeah, these mods are either visual or gameplay. Camera Tools just allows for cooler shots that are harder to get normally, such as flybys
