NOTAM-IVA-Altimeter for KSP 0.23 - released 2014-02-09

Reassigns the IVA-Altimeter-Hands (InternalAltimeterThreeHands) to use 'Notice to Airmen' readings - means:

hand100Name = MediumArm
hand1000Name = ShortArm
hand10000Name = LongArm

instead off

hand100Name = LongArm
hand1000Name = MediumArm
hand10000Name = ShortArm

It's disappointing that this this simple but excellent mod gets so little attention. It's such a simple fix. Needs to be stock.

Fast approaching two years later, I am forced to conclude that the number of KSP players who care about the correctness of the IVA altimeter  -  or indeed even notice the issue  -  is so vanishingly small as to be insignificant.

It's a tradition now. Once a year, I'll bring this thread back up just to let any interested parties know about the simple and elegant fix to one of KSP's longest-running bugs. A bug so very persistent that the fraction of the userbase who ever attempt to use the IVA altimeter just train themselves to read it the wrong damn way instead of seeking a fix.

It is 2023, they are dropping KSP2. This fix is still not stock and this should be fixed in the base game. IMHO.
