Banana for Scale - Analyse bananas in space!

Actually, lets stop for a moment and look at the facts here. This is a banana from our perspective, but one thing you fail to take into consideration is that the "banana" is the offspring of a plant which grows on the planet "Earth" and claiming that this specimen, which only resembles the banana we all know, is not at its correct scale is utterly ridiculous. On a planet which is smaller than our own moon, and oddly enough still contains the same gravitational pull as our larger planet does, we have to assume that the plant life would take a few turns in directions we cannot predict.

As for keeping them from eating it, well... how do we even know that a kerbal can properly digest the flesh of this banana-like specimen? It could be horribly toxic.

True though a more accurately scaled version is now available - still at the original link

How could one not download this?

Also, having played around with it, it's a good part beyond the simple joke/reference. The science texts are witty simple, yet the idea behind them is almost satirical if you already find the science system somewhat superficial- it's like a parody of the goo.

And I do love a good parody.

I did make the texture slighly more yellow though, by having a kerbal dip them in food colouring.

I look forward to taking bananas to all parts of the solar system.

TweakScale config for this.

For those who don't know, TweakScale is a mod that lets you rescale parts.

Since this banana is useful for indicating the scale of other things, changing its size actually has the effect of changing the size of absolutely everything else in the universe.

That is so deep... If I didn't have to pay attention in the rest of my class today, my mind would be blow away... completely.

Now use it as a missile warhead

"He was attacking me with a banana!"

"I bet you thought that banana wasn't loaded..."

Umm, I can't remember the whole quote, woops.

how random. why is this getting traction?

of course, the only response is Reference Pear: http://www.shutupandsitdown.com/blog/post/review-libertalia/

It's a meme, and a friendly and useful one at that.

Plus, this mod is surprisingly fun to use.

Also, Reference Pear? Nyet! The banana is the only acceptable standard!

And remember, if you ever want to prank your friends, just stuff their bell nozzles with bananas!

I bet they'll go bananas. :)

I've made a satellite at geostationary orbit height, but retrograde and named it Gravitometric Orbital Observatory for Measuring Banana Amplification. I've pushed it into uncontrolled tumble and tried to save it using Kerbals. Mission successful.

As long as the banana hasn't been mushed, I'd call it a success
