Mods every beginner should know about?

I searched for a thread covering this, but couldn't find it. I've been playing KSP for a few weeks now.

What are some mods that every beginner should know about and consider using when exploring the game for the first time?

In my opinion: none.

As you play the game you get more and more familiar with it, and at the same time you'll find things you feel lacking. That's when you ought to start looking for mods to fix these perceived issues/gaps in gameplay.

You could try the Fine Print mod, which adds more contract types to career mode. Other than that, I agree with DYJ.

That is kind of how I got the two mods I've installed so far. I was annoyed that I'd put parachutes on my booster rockets, thinking I'd be able to recover them, only to have them disappear. Or that I'd have my command console directly docked to my lander, and yet Jeb would have to EVA from the lander to the console. So I found two mods to do those things.
