Omega Areospace: Incompetance you can beleive in! (Floodlights inside)

Just finished wrestling with blender, and the result of my first attempt at part making is a rough set of two flood/spotlights! They use the headlights from the cart plugin. Light intensity, range, and toggle key (default is P) can be changed in the .cfg file.

I hear there is already a module class for lights in KSP, but the info on it hasn\'t been released, so this is a quick and dirty until that happens.

There\'s one pointing down.

And one pointing up!

THESE LIGHTS REQUIRE THE CART PLUGIN BY TOSH!

Funny, the BigTrak parts have their own lights....

In relation to the stack, the lights I made are pointed fore and aft. The BigTrak floods, however, are aimed radially outward from the stack. There isn\'t much overlap because mine are for landing, his are for driving once you\'ve landed. :)

Well, Alexander, I\'ve used these, and think they\'re great! Most people don\'t want to mess with config files (I don\'t have this problem!), so if you need ideas... why don\'t you make three lights, such as these:

Small: For aircraft!

Medium: For landing!

Large: For ILLUMINATING FROM ORBIT (or from high in the air, I guess =P )

Also, having a specific visual style on each would be awesome! Please consider making one that looks well with aircraft, too.

I really hate trying to get everything to play nice with each other, last time I was fighting with UV maps and just kinda gave up. Really wish someone who is good at this would take a whack at it.

At any rate, I\'ll fire up blender again and try mashing my fists against the keyboard until something passable comes out.

man just use maya or max...why does everyone stuck with blender which makes modelling and texturing a PIA??? one can lear in a weeks time enything about these two...

Because Autodesk charge a lot of money? I wouldn\'t want to pay $6000 so I can make mods for a game that cost me $15.

Unless you\'re offering to buy copies for people?

If you your currently a student or faculty member 3ds Max is actually free if you qualify.

A faculty member is an employee at a primary or secondary educational institution or any degree-granting or certificate-granting educational institution or any learning, teaching or training facilities and who upon request by Autodesk is able to provide proof of such status.

A student is an individual enrolled at a recognized degree-granting or certificate-granting educational institution for three (3) or more credit hours in a degree-granting or certificate granting education program or in a nine (9) month or longer certificate program, and upon request by Autodesk is able to provide proof of such enrollment.

This is getting a little off topic though, best to redirect the conversation back to the lights.

Thnx for the lights, since i\'m happy that i hit the Mun from time to time and when i do i land on the darkside..

Also they really add some nice looks on space stations.

I did notice that when i\'m in orbit of Kerbin, it lights up the whole planet.

Hi, just wanted to say these are excellent for landing on the Mun and for illuminating my Mun base, they should be in vanilla!

Secondly, after making a few ships using them I found myself kind of hiding them on my ships cause the yellow was starting to bug me. So I did a quick re-skin with some textures that I thought blended well with the game, and I really like how they turned out! So I thought I would share them here, if Alexander wants to use them, make a 2nd version, or just ban me for changing his creative vision, feel free!

This is just the 2 .png files I changed, if anyone wants to use them just replace the .png's in the part/texture folders for the Floods.

Thanks again to Alexander for the great addon!
