  1. You do realize to even make orbit around Kerbin, you need over 2 km/s? (without factoring in the dV needed to reach that altitude) And the fact that orbit around Kerbol is in the tens of km/s?
  2. Considering the ramp would be at the end of the runway, if you haven't slowed down in time to not go off of it, you would never stop anyway. If anything, it's a little extra stopping power instead of going off the end.
  3. ...I have docked a number of times, but I have NEVER thought to use strafing to line the ships up. (Mainly because I didn't know HOW to strafe...)
  4. Unfortunately, the only thing I truly know about landing planes is essentially the same as landing a real plane. You have to essentially glide down onto where you want to land. To do this, you have to cut back the throttle, and tilt the plane up about 15-20 degrees, so you still attract lift, while slowing down considerably. This will usually end up in a (relatively) smooth landing. This is also why you normally see planes landing on their back wheels first. They are tilting up, so the back touches down before the front.
  5. A lot of players probably feel a sense of dread about the mun do to the fact that it is the first major challenge when you start the game: landing on a body that isn't Kerbin.
  6. ~2000 day mission.... not my fastest mission so far...... I really need to learn how to efficiently change orbits. lol
  7. I actually just now escaped Duna. When I was slowing down to get low enough to gather science, an intercept with Ike popped up, but went away nicely. (I was also coming in at about a 70 degree angle.) Funny story about Ike, a buddy of mine actually managed to get slingshotted off of Ike twice before giving up. All this while I was standing behind him dying laughing.
  8. Thanks for the welcome. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a trip to Duna to do....
  9. I've been a backer and player of KSP for a long time, but have only just now decided to bother with the forums. Hopefully, it'll turn out for the better.
  10. I wasn't even aware kerbals ever spoke. I always wondered what their language was.
  11. I decided that after dozens of successful flights (please read as surviving long enough), he would captain the kerbin space station. He's currently orbiting 200km above kerbin.
