  1. So I've build a Space Shuttle type thing, and I'm having the problem of the Rudder causing unwanted roll, and making the craft unflyable. Obviously the moment of yaw is off centre from the centre of mass, causing the unwanted roll. Is there a plugin that lets you turn off the control surface, for example with action groups? This would really help my build, without having to use some sort of detachable counter fin on the underside of the shuttle.
  2. Asking the same question... I remember making some really nice quadrocopters with this mod and Firespitter....
  3. I might borrow that idea with the radially docked fuel tank thing. It looks really funky and I've had some spare docking ports on the KSS Nye for a while now, they might as well have something like that chucked on to add aesthetics
  4. Just downloaded this, and at the moment, it seems to roll very weirdly when flying in atmo... Rolling always seems to induce a large amount of sideslip... Is this a problem? or is it meant to be like this?
  5. Damn that is one shmexy spaceplane. What mod did you use for the long spherical fuel tank?
  6. He's probably using the Real Solar System mod... it turns the Kerbin system into our real solar system, and re-scales everything to the correct sizes.
  7. This look amazing, and this might have been asked before (I can't be bothered to look through 50+ pages ), but does the heat shield include DRE support?
  8. I like the idea of the FW-190... EDIT: Especially the long nose variant...
  9. Damn, I can't even build something that nice in normal sized KSP, and you went and out did everything I've built, and in RSS. I tip my hat to you, good sir.
  10. That said, what about Apollo 13? I know it was a rare case, but one small thing caused a load of other problems. http://www.space.com/8193-caused-apollo-13-accident.html The actual list of minute things that caused the main problem is actually kinda interesting, but I'm getting side tracked. What I think would be cool to happen is very rarely something of Apollo 13 style proportions would happen, and you have to be very Gene Kranz about the situation and try to jerry-rig your way back home. But that's just a thought, and if some people find this too extreme, maybe some sort of difficulty scaler could be included? Like higher difficulty makes random failures more common, and more extreme?
  11. That worked surprisingly well. Almost more smooth at 50 than at 10!
  12. Grumble Grumble bandicam is only for windows grumble grumble
  13. That is the most kerbal plane i have seen. I might try this challenge, but i need a good way of recording :/ Any suggestions? free would be better...
  14. Not that this isn't one of the most awesome things i've seen in ksp to date, but... erm... Why?
  15. Couldn't you just shoot it when it's coming towards you ie. hit it pointing retrograde, so it massively drops the velocity and it falls back to earth quicker?
  16. Didn't the USA shoot down a defective satellite with a missile launched from a boat? If they managed that from a moving platform, I think a rail gun wouldn't be too hard to aim At that velocity things like wind and pressure changes in the atmosphere would have much less effect, so you'd really just need some clever maths calculation to create a trajectory, and boom. EDIT: Turns out this satellite was in a lower than normal orbit. Wikipedia says a normal satellite would have been out of range. But still. Rail guns are more... fun. And definitely more Kerbal.
  17. It's not a mod suggestion, its a genuine question about real life jet engines. I just used the KSP engines as an example
  18. Just a thought I had in the shower this morning, and decided I would ask someone about it. We all love making VTOL jet planes in KSP, but the only problem is the amount of time for a jet engine to spool up/down. Surely it would be easier to just change the amount of air that enters the engine? As in, at lower thrust the intake would just let in less air into the jet, and just keep the spinning at a constant RPM? This might be a stupid idea, but I thought I might as well ask someone if it existed/was theoretically possible.
  19. Pro Tip: Buy the full version. Worth every single penny/cent/dogecoin/whatever currency you use. nice crafts BTW, i'd love to see my little macbook air try to handle that 3,000 part craft
  20. Turns out I was making it wrong, the one I downloaded from you worked perfectly fine with DRE.
  21. When then end piece probe core thing actually explodes, it breaks other parts around it, and therefore the missile itself. Pretty sure it's a feature of DRE... Or maybe I'm just making them wrong, I'll try your one
  22. Just out of interest, what do you think will be added to this mod? As in, what will the next few updates contain (besides bug fixes obviously) It's a great mod atm, and I was just wondering where is was going
  23. Quick note these don't work with DRE... although it does work well as fireworks!
