  1. Assuming it worked first time, you need to have The link is what you put it on, so those links.... yeah... UPDATE: didn't work first time, it works better with www.imgur.com. I recommend using that instead of postimg - much easier to use, and all you need to do is make an account FREE!
  2. Too much Ion challenges. Try something a little more original, like... oh, I dunno, something to do with Eeloo? Maybe?
  3. Chances are something went wrong with the download. Here is a download link for it. Download it as a ZIP file, then put the 'planet factory' folder directly into the gamedata folder in KSP. Just to be sure, y'know? But here is another challenge: try to make an SSTO for kerbin, but the capsule is facing backwards. Also, you would need to be in IVA mode.
  4. Granted, but someone spill water on it and is rendered unusable. I wish that KSP 0.25 comes out within the next week
  5. What do you mean? Does it crash when loading or do you not see the planets? If it crashes, install a texture management mod, like active texture management. If you don't see the planets, you might have put it in wrong
  6. Ah, interesting. Perhaps you could do something like scott manley's "interstellar quest", but do it with the stock tech tree and not the interstellar one. Could throw in some planet's from krags planet factory, if you want. Or, you could use a gravity assist from a planet to another - choices: - to Jool - to Sentar (planet factory, could mod inclination a bit?)
  7. When I'm on the challenges page, I've wanted to see new challenges. But it's often crowded with other posts from other challenges which I've seen before. I don't particularly want to see things that have been replied to recently, I want to see new stuff! But others may disagree and want 'most recent post/reply' thing, so I thought "filters?" and here is the suggestion. Should this be in the suggestion bit or am I in the right place? Anyway, can the forum get a way to filter posts? You could have newest to oldest, for example. There could be other things you want, like word count in a post (higher word counts in the challenges section usually mean more quality about the challenge).
  8. oohh, I like the story line. Do you have pre-set ship locations? Or can I make some suggestions: - Science base on eve - Space station around moho (100km) - run-out-of-fuel transport vessel around the sun (somewhere between jool and dres) - Small space station around bop (30km) - (dead) Lander on tylo or laythe - Ship around ablate - Asteroid base around sentar (57 degree orbit, 500km) Just some suggestions. Now that I think of it, this would be great for a youtube series!
  9. Just one question: how far have you gone in KSP so far? I know this isn't the best way to measure how good you are at the game, but what is the most distant object on the kerbol system you've landed on? When you answer that, I'll add a few more suggestions. But for now...: 1) fly from KSC to the island runway in IVA, but have the cockpit in reverse (flying backwards, in a way). It takes some practice, but is possible.
  10. Well couldn't you put a required mod as SP+ in the 0.24.2 stage, then get rid of that when 0.25 comes out?
  11. Seems like a sound challenge. Only two comments: - Why do we have to use FAR or NEAR? Surely we can choose to go stock aerodynamics if we want to. - Don't worry about 0.25. For all we know, it could be released around Halloween - making the challenge a bore and sink down into the 'dead challenge' zone (basically what I call any challenge without entry/post beyond the page 5 mark)
  12. I'll go for this again, and I'll attempt to use the mk3 parts *shocks of horror from the universe itself*. The sun-chaser 2 is in development and launching tomorrow!
  13. My entry is complete! Although I think it is already disqualified because I flew above 11km (highest altitude was 13km - can you accept that?) Disqualified or not, my entry:
  14. Great, you beat me to the first entry! Thanks, windows movie maker rendering! I'll be uploading in an hour anyway, so... See you on the leaderboard! And nice work. Just saving my video. Should be uploaded by overnight. I hope. It's taking ages to save and I have school tomorrow. Yay, last minute!
  15. What does? My entry? Here are a few screenshots of pre-launch: The flag moved, but that was because I had to make some tweaks to make it all stable and not clip into the ground
  16. Interesting... RFE Update 1: BREAKING NEWS: Sun chaser 1 has been launched! It's mission is to be the first plane to circumnavigate kerbin with the sun always on the horizon. The 6 hour voyage will be filmed and uploaded to youtube. Update 2: The fuel on board sun chaser 1 has passed halfway and it will land in the rim of a crater on kerbin. Y'know, the one by the big desert where KSC 2 is. Update 2.5: Engineers at KSC are wondering whether or not it is a good idea to attempt a water landing. Simulations are being prepared now Update 3: The simulations showed it could make a water landing, but most of the plane would be destroyed. The engineers at KSC chose to land on an island and it payed off: Flying a third of the way around kerbin, sun chaser 1 has landed with fuel to spare. It could not fly across the ocean - simulations weren't needed to know that. The video will be uploaded later today.
  17. I did some research on KSP about the resource system and that it was ditched a while back. But I had a thought.... What if you could configure in the settings what resources you want to use? It was apparently ditched because, when tested, it seemed too complicated to implement. But we've seen mine-able resources being added with mods - Kethane, Karbonite, two popular ones (the only two I know lol). So I thought "How could they add resources while keeping it simple for players?" for a while. While playing another game (Can't remember which), I thought about activating certain resources through the settings. More advanced players could add more resources as they develop in kerbal space program. It makes it easier to handle adding a resource at a time. This could be a possible fix to the complexity of multiple resources. If you have all the resources activated, you also use something similar to the ship type selector so that it shows certain resources at a time. Support, anyone? This could be built on.
  18. So Kerbal alarm clock is allowed and can certainly give you transfer window times, but distant object isn't?
  19. Hello, I'm TJPrime. Pretty soon, I'll be starting up a youtube series that will involve two challenges: Ell's Ultimate HardKore Challenge and the grand tour + Jeb level for the Ultimate Jool-5 Challenge. In other words, I'll be using the harder mods (plus some visual packs) to attempt a grand tour mission. I chose to do a youtube series because it would add publicity to my channel, plus I'd been thinking about doing this for a while. Also, when I get the technology, I'll be sending some probes to the Jool system to map all the bodies there before selecting a landing spot. Each orbiter will also have a lander, and will resemble the Rosetta mission. There will also be a voyager-type mission that will transmit some data from the Jool system, before taking a picture of the kerbol system. The configuration for the video's will be on every Monday and Friday (give or take a day). Here is a playlist of my video's so far, the most recent video and when the next video will be uploaded: Playlist: (not done yet) Most recent video: (not done yet) Next video: Tuesday 09 September Also, every 10th episode, I will stream! So you have that to look forward to!
  20. Personally, I take it as a "completion" challenge - where you just complete the challenge with no way of winning - you just did it. I think I'll do a youtube series on this. But one other question: Can we have distant object enhancement and other packs that only add visuals? Reserved for first video + channel link
  21. I think he means something I can sum up in one word: Autocorrect
  22. It wouldn't be that. As you say, 'No mod has yet achieved', 'if we had our way, we would tell no one about and just let you guys discover through gameplay' It's probably going to be something huge, yet hard to notice. It's probably (in my opinion) going to be more procedural generated terrain. Think, has a mod done it? No. Will you discover it through gameplay? Yes. Will it be hilarious? HILL-arious? Pun anyone? Result:Terrain update confirmed
  23. I think they already do. But you'd only need to go once or twice to get all the science you can get - not enough biomes. Surface samples give you the most science, I believe.
