Greg,
How hard would it be for you to make a teraformed Mars? In in other words, a Mars with an Ocean. Maybe drain Earth's oceans for a real sci-fi game.

I love your Science Alert mod. It is on my list of "must have" mods it is so useful. Any chance you can recompile it and moniker it with a "use at your own risk till I get it sorted" version?

Oh Mighty Bread,
Any chance on you making an X-15 for taerobee? Any suggestions on part packs for a B-29 and B-52?
Love your Tantares work. Its what I am putting in the Historical Rocket Progression:
Do you have craft files for all of your LV rockets and other Tantares craft? That would help a bunch (and cut down on errors on my part).
Thanks for all the work you do. I know its a labor of love.

Dang FreeThinker. You've added a bunch since my last update. NICE!
I will release a new update today with all of your new parts in the correct positions.

legoclone, how do you create an IRC on EsperNet?

Sarge,
I am working on a tech tree and adding @CobaltWolf's BDB parts. I noticed you made some craft files for him. Do you mind if I use them (or derivatives of them) in my mod: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/131112-wip-historical-progression-tree-jan-31-2016/
I will, of course, credit you in the description of the craft. If OK, can you give me a cross reference of which stock-alike craft and its real counterpart. I don't want to make any mistakes.
Thanks!

I'm completely O-K with that. I make the craft files kind of slowly I guess, I don't want to mess anything up. I'll probably make Atlas II stuff this week and some form of Atlas V stuff as well, using sub assemblies due to the 19 versions of Atlas V. They will go to that drop box and when I'm 100% sure that they are done, they will go on KerbalX. Anyway, go ahead use the craft files. I mostly ask Cobalt during streams how they fit together, after all he made the mod. You should probably get the reference material from him. I hope that made sense, it did to me.

Working on your parts today. Very nice! I wanted to see if I could get a bit of help with the craft files. Do you have a link to all the historic .craft files that your mod can make and (this is the important part) a cross-reference as to what is what. For instance Hermes = Mercury-Atlas. The pair of software tools makes my job so much easier if I have that info. Otherwise I have to build the craft and do several more steps to verify its correct. I'm afraid I'll make a couple errors.
If not, I will continue the way I'm working. I have the Mercury-Atlas (Hermes) done, I think. Gorgeous.

I know, I've seen it! I'm immensely jealous of DangerouslyDave's work - it's certainly a lot more polished than mine. I think that's the difference between making a dozen parts and 200. I'm excited to be able to play with Unity 5's shaders. I'm holding off until the update and other people have figured things out.

@CobaltWolf Not a lot of time this week and last weekend my dad was off work, so he got rights to his computer and any movement toward it would mean "So have you done all of your chores?" Anyway, I should be able to put out Atlas II and basic sub assemblies for an Atlas V thing this weekend, but I won't put anything in stone, since you are going to rework it sooner or later. Unless its like after Saturn, in which case I will make the 400 versions of Atlas V, which are compatible with the centaur decoupler we have now looks wise. I'll also try to make Titan stuff, which brings up another point, for Titan III, do I use Titan II or IV tanks? Same with engines.
Sincerely,
-

@frizzank I've started work on a historic tech tree that features FASA! Here is an link to what I had done yesterday: http://www.kersh.com/HRT.jpg
You don't happen to have anymore spare craft files lying around, such as the Gemini Lander, do you?
-
@legoclone09 Right now would be a really good time to find that tree editor. Any luck finding it?

Hi Whitecat,
I'm playing through you missions. Love it! I am using the Engineering Tech Tree (ETT), but I had an idea for a new tree.
I have started developing a tree that has nodes that are full of just the parts needed to build a specific rocket. For instance the start node would be full of sounding rockets. The next node(s) would have, R-1 and Explorer I and so on.
What do you think about collaborating on the effort? I will build the tree to specifically work with your contracts. This won't only be fun, it will be really educational.
Will probably wait to release it until 1.1 for full release, but the tree development has begun. I will send you screen shots if you are interested. One of the guys who uses my ETT is developing a tech tree editor. Should make things a bit simpler.

Hello Probus,
I am glad you are enjoying the pack!
I would love to help out in whatever way I can, although with real life right now I have little spare time! But certainly send me some screen shots! The easiest thing to do would be to look up a chronological list of space flight programs on Wikipedia etc, and then adjust each set of branches for manned missions (Russian, American), probes (Russian - moon - interplanetary - planetary , American - moon - interplanetary - planetary) and maybe go off from there?
But certainly keep me updated!
Regards,

@linuxgurugamer, I'm guessing by your name that you may be ever so slightly familiar with Linux. You don't happen to know of a good GUI git-hub repository interface?

Hi Yemo. I haven't tried your SETI tree yet. As you know, I love tech trees. I haven't dabbled in contracts at all, but that looks like fun too. I am going to start a SETI game because I'm not sure exactly what concept it is based on.
I am working on another mod that uses the tech tree, but not really in any way that has been released yet. I would like your opinion of the concept.
I am planning a tree where each node is all the parts for a historical rocket. So you might start with Explorer-Redstone --> Mercury-Redstone --> etc... The hard part is going to be the dependencies. For example, you must have Saturn I unlocked before you use Saturn V. That's easy, but should you have to unlock Redstone, then Atlas, then Saturn? I'm thinking for game balance you should even though the rockets aren't directly based on each other.
Of course it will have trees for different nations also. Hopefully different companies at the end (SpaceX, Sierra Nevada, Boeing). Maybe, if I can, use contracts to give you probes and experiments to do that will end up unlocking that part.
What do you think?

Hey,
just last week I started a more in depth look at your ETT, nice work!
For an impression of the full changes of SETIctt, I recommend a basic mod pack. At the moment the ckan install of the SETIrebalance gives such recommendations, though that would hide what is part of SETIctt.
Anyway, for a look into SETIctt part distribution alone, I recommend the following mods:
CustomBarnKit
VenStockRevamp (small heat shield and stuff)
RemoteTech (earlier com sats) + SETI-RemoteTechConfig
B9ProceduralParts (the reason for the special "modular wings" node)
Procedural Parts
TAC-LifeSupport (which creates an extra "clutter parts" node, useful if procedural parts are installed)For your historical project, I recommend a look at the historic mission pack as well as the threads from Niemand303 and tjsnh:
It sounds like a big project, yet be aware there have been earlier attempts, but non got to really finish it.
Also there is an overlap with Realism Overhaul, so many people interested in such a historic progression might go to Realism Overhaul anyway, splitting the target audience and thus the availability of help/feedback.

nyrath, are you the same nyrath from the "I can't stop reading this" Atomic Rockets site: http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/ ?
