It's silly, but I think I like it. I kinda want to add some news headline to go with it. Regarding shuttles, I managed to get this thing into orbit: Fuel-wise, it didn't actually take much. It's just that getting to orbit was... harrowing. The stability is so awful, I had to add some radial engines on an action group just to keep the thing from flipping.

I like the huge shield on front. It makes it look like it could handle a close-range expedition to the sun.

Wow, I like the modular lattice design in nukeboyt's fuel depot. Are all those docking ports actually clamped together?

What about multi-port docking? You could use TVR multi-couplers to ensure that the mating ports on each half are identical, and all the ports should auto-snap towards each other at the last moment. On top of that, it would make for a stronger connection.
