  1. Yes. Diborane, for example. Also, carbocations often have them, most famously this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2-Norbornyl_cation
  2. @Sharpy: The air doesn't move faster because it has a longer path. Nothing requires equal transit time in that situation.
  3. Don't forget the dark matter! (This should help.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_rotation_curve
  4. I don't suppose you could run an LC-MS? (Without a proper analytical chemistry lab, verifying the contents really isn't feasible.)
  5. I have a biplane under construction, and it's almost done. I'm tweaking the control surface values so that the AI doesn't keep stalling it. The AI has a maximum speed setting, but not a minimum one, and also tries to fly like in stock aerodynamics. Particularly, excessive pitch-up right after take-off (when speed is still low) causes crashes. The plane flies fine, but the AI is dumb.
  6. Here's my biplane. It flies, but the AI can't handle it: http://pastebin.com/79iUnVZu
  7. I need some advice on getting the BDArmory AI Pilot working with FAR. It keeps putting my planes into stalls, which usually lead to crashes.
  8. I used Azimech's. My biplane flies now, after I changed the landing gear. (I had to use the retractable ones, because the fixed ones were clipping into the runway on physics load and flipping the plane.) Edit: I can fly the biplane, but the AI can't. It keeps sending Jebediah nosediving into the ground (and this is on multiple steering settings).
  9. Ok, I've finally finished my monoplane: the Stinger! It has 4 Browning machine guns and 4 ammo boxes, and is small, fast, and maneuverable. Work continues on a biplane. The engine seems to cause a lot of torque, which is leading to problems.
  10. Yeah, the reaction wheels are frankly OP. They help a lot with aim. Not having a pilot also cuts the mass down by around 0.9t. In regards to the comments about planes starting at uneven times, I tried to start them as close together as possible. The problem was that the engines were already activated from taxiing to starting positions, so I had to use the "standby" setting on the AI pilot. For whatever reason, this worked on some crafts but not others. On the ones that it didn't, I had to manually start the pilot. In those cases, I alternated which plane took off first, to try to keep it as fair as possible.
  11. Videos: Blizzard vs. MIG: https://youtu.be/ZXPE8MhnzPQ Blizzard vs. Hellion: https://youtu.be/JsDceEIBawY Hornet vs. Mosquito: https://youtu.be/batlITwKDtg Hellion vs. Hornet (finals): https://youtu.be/WoZSucGoQhI The Hornet won in a close 3 to 2 victory. The two planes are pretty evenly matched; the Hellion is a bit faster but a bit less maneuverable than the Hornet.
  12. The Blizzards' missiles weren't very effective. I would replace the AMRAAMs with Sidewinders. Also, changing the guard range to 5km would help. The Hornet beat the Mosquito 5-0. The Hornets got in the air a lot faster than the Mosquitoes, giving them a big advantage. On the last two matches, I set the Mosquitoes' minimum altitude to 150 m instead of 900 m, which made it more fair, but they still lost. FINALS: Hellion vs. Hornet Mosquito vs. DAZ video: https://youtu.be/p2oquB4aCfg - - - Updated - - - The final is done, but I'll wait to post the results until all the videos have uploaded.
  13. Yes, it is. The Hellions beat the Blizzards 4-1. Ramming was involved in one of the matches (must be a n00b AI, right?) The Hornet vs. CK-141A video just uploaded:
  14. Yes. X-Viper vs. Hornet video: https://youtu.be/MoFh0VSrsA0 The Blizzards beat the MIGs 3-2. In one of the matches, the MIGs won because the Blizzards ran out of fuel. Next Round: Hellion vs. Blizzard Hornet vs. Mosquito
  15. Yeah, the planes had a hard time hitting each other. In other news, the Hornet beat the CK-141A (5-0). Those Vulcans are brutal. The Mosquito beat the DAZ-1 Mk. 2 (3-2). The video, yet to upload, features some crazy ramming. Video of the K4G vs. DAZ-1 Mk. 2:
  16. Shark vs. Goblin video: https://youtu.be/ACbvdlbwM8c In the second round, the Hellion beat the Shark 3-2. The Shark, for some reason, crashed KSP when it crashed once, so I only have video of four of the matches.
  17. First round winners: 6 (DAZ-1 Mk. 2) 7 (Hornet III- 8 (Rafale Shark) Videos will be posted as soon as they are done uploading to Youtube. Next round: 1 vs. 8 2 vs. 7 3 vs. 6 4 vs. 5
  18. OK, the tournament is starting! Crafts (seed randomly determined): 1: Hellion 3-D 2: CK-141A 3: Mosquito Mk. II-A 4: MIG-35 (some missiles and ammo removed for 60 pt. limit) 5: F-42 Blizzard 6: DAZ-1 Mk. 2 7: Hornet III-B 8: Rafale Shark 9: F-8 Goblin 10: X-Viper Elite 11: K-4G Advanced 12-16: bye Starting Round: 6 vs. 11 7 vs. 10 8 vs. 9 The plane that wins 3 out of 5 battles advances to the round of 8.
  19. OK, sure. I was planning on doing most of the rounds tomorrow anyway.
  20. Maybe, but mine's in this one Anyway, I think the different starting configuration is having interesting effects. Planes with shorter take-off distances have an advantage, in my testing.
  21. First bracket (determined randomly): Rafale Shark vs. F-8 Goblin Hornet III-B vs. X-Viper Elite Mosquito Mk II-A vs. Hellion 3D MIG-35 (Edit: Some missiles and ammo removed to comply with 60 point limit) vs. CK-141A
  22. I've decided to host a tournament! 90 part count limit (if they're needed to make your plane look really cool I'll allow a few extra parts), 60 points limit (same point system as the previous tournament). Planes will start with two teams facing away from each other, one north of the runway, one south. These are the 8 planes I've seen so far: Mosquito Mk II-A Rafale Shark X-Viper Elite Hornet III-B MIG-35 F-8 Goblin CK-141A Hellion 3D If there are any missing, PM me by 10:00 a.m. CDT tomorrow.
