  1. Temperatures in KSP is in Kelvin. Pressure, density and temperature change with night and day. - - - Updated - - - So, Duna at nighttime appears to be around -40 degrees celcius. Even during daytime (was sun high in the sky/rising/setting?) at least from that screenshot, is ~51,6 degrees celcius.
  2. Airbreathing engines must be worth something now on Eve, at least? Landers might be built around Rapiers now instead.
  3. "... someone decided that they wanted to force what they thought looked cool on thousands of people without giving them a choice. That person is an idiot." That could be said about the entire game. Being nitpicky about something as silly as a mouse pointer is just... Meh. EDIT: Their product, their choice. But yes, the science lab! The science lab is awesome!
  4. No, no, that is definitely not why. If we just take the recent AMA on Reddit, the reason the dV readouts didn't make it, is because they are a part of a bigger system that they're implementing. A system that involves scientists and engineers to have more skills. They didn't put dV readouts in the game, because the experience system with your crew that allows for this isn't ready for release yet. I think Squad were brave not to put it in - Now that I know it's a part of a bigger and different picture than I thought, I'd rather they wait until it's done. Besides, all I had to do was download KER, which was updated like 1 hour after release. - - - Updated - - - Problem isn't that people are throwing critique around. The problem is that people are being critical at any cost. There's a very fine line between being rightfully critical, and being downright rude. If "idiotic" is the best word you're able to dig out of your vocabulary when being critical, you're not just critical, you're rude. EDIT: Like the OP, this is what bothers me the most. People are being rude and juvenile about it.
  5. StayPutnik isn't really happy about heat. You get lots of heat taking off now as well. With the new aerodynamics, plunging through the atmosphere at 1000 m/s generates A LOT of heat. If your StayPutnik is on top of your rocket on take-off, you should put it inside a fairing.
  6. You might be the biggest nay-sayer I have ever stumbled upon.
  7. Could you elaborate that a bit more, please?
  8. I think the implementation is nice, simple and elegant really, and the weight of the converter adds to not making it "too easy". The instant scan of the Survey scanner is a VERY welcome feature for me. There's no point in "real time scanning", a.k.a. timewarping to get the exactly same job done. The Survey scanner only gives you one thing as well: An overview of ore concentration. Now, the Narrow Band Scanner delivers much more detail (ie. Terrain detail), and only for the ground below you. That's your real time alternative
  9. My experience with the game so far sounds exactly like this. I love it! Now, I read somewhere that editing the PhysicsSignificance from 1 to 0 in the heatshield configs makes them actually have real mass, and will fix the Pod-tipping-over-during-reentry problem.
  10. Denmark here! And searching for more danish players!
  11. The use of the word "vast" is funny sometimes. The "vast" amount of players who spend most of their time on game forums and use the forum as their social outlet related to said game will always complain. The vast amount of KSP players aren't on these forums on a regular basis. There will always be wiseguy-threads and eternal complaining. This thread is just one out of a bunch of examples.
  12. Problem with this discussion is as always, that you can only ask this question if there's a set way of playing this game. And there isn't. These discussions are silly really, unless the topic of debate were something along the lines of "Which way of playing KSP do you enjoy the most?". With all these silly "balancing" and "realism" demands, we will in the end, get a game with 3000 sliders to adjust "difficulty" or "realism" or "how correct do you want to play KSP?" settings. As always, if it's silly to you, don't use it.
  13. Either way.. - - - Updated - - - I want the riddle to spell out b4d455 Jeb. I just cant figure out how to get "Jeb" from the second line. Perhaps something with subtracting. In hex, Jeb is 4a 65 62. Second line is 4AA9 AA95 5955, so the 4A = J is there in the beginning. Then I thought about subtracting. If you convert into Base10, so that A = 11, you have A - 9 = 2. It might be a bit far fetched
  14. Just throwing some thoughts out there. The sequence of the code: 5566 AA55 66DB 4AA9 AA95 5955 55 66 AA sequence seems repeated. If you go strictly for this you have: (Notice italics) 55 66 AA 55 66 DB 4AA9 AA95 5955 In the end, you have AA95 5955 - Dont know if AA is reversing 95 to 59, or if it's a clue at all. The AA is a modulator of some kind. Must be. 5566 AA 5566 DB <- End of line? It COULD also be: Skip each second, so: 5566 AA55 66DB = 56A56D = Hex colour is definitely green'ish - Does this mean anything? 4AA9 AA95 5955 = 4AA955 = Hex colour Also pretty green - - - Updated - - - Also, it's possible to spell out the hex color code #b4d455 with the first line, which is indeed Jebediah's color.
  15. Hmm - One of my biggest problems to begin with, was figuring out how my rocket on the launch pad was oriented relative to the navball. What I felt was tilting to the right when pressing "D" made my rocket not go east. You'll get my drift
  16. Stop playing KSP for a good while. Will come in handy to have forgotten some essential stuff about 0.90 before all the changes hit me.
  17. This is definitely a mission to follow! Very inspiring.
  18. Ah, Mr. Cupcake is here! This was my first testflight with a cupcake-styled VTOL. Maneuvering has improved a lot now, KSC is a really nice testing ground. Edit: Cupcake, I have a question. Do you use any mod's for camera control? I have Improved Chase Cam installed, but I would REALLY like a camera angel that was basically "Free view", but always points towards your "Control from here" parts orientation. I find it hard to control my camera with the hat switch in an effective manner.
  19. You really need to go outside and get some fresh air. This attitude is tiresome and juvenile.
  20. Hi community I have no luck whatsoever in getting any of my friends to play KSP, which kind of sucks, and I figured I'd start a post about finding some local KSP players. Then I got to wonder, where are you all from? I myself are from Denmark, the land with the world largest amateur space "organisation" Copenhagen suborbitals
  21. I feel that one important thing to know about transfering to bodies outside Kerbins SOI, is phasing angles, because it seriously reduces the fiddleing with maneuver nodes and adjustment burns. You can transfer to all bodies in the system without knowing them, but knowing how the planets should be aligned before trying a transfer to ie. Duna, saves you a lot of fuel, and therefore reduces the fuel requirement of your transfer stage. I've never tried mods that assists with Phasing angles, but I've learned from these forums, that when you want to transfer to Duna, switch to map mode, zoom out, and time accellerate until Duna is in front of Kerbin in it's orbit around Kerbol (the sun). If you imagine a straigt line from Kerbin to the sun, and a straight line from Duna to the sun, the angle between Kerbin and Duna should be about 45 degrees (I think it's about 44 degrees, but 45 should be just fine). This is the optimal alignment between those two planets for a transfer. You can use this amazing guide for a graphical presentation of how Kerbin, Duna and your transfer stage should be aligned.
  22. The problem with the chase camera is, that it rolls as well. For that, there's the improved chase cam mod, but I cant seem to get it to always look where my nose is pointing. EDIT: What I ment was, Improved Chase Cam is looking at your forward velocity vector. With VTOL's, you sometimes fly backwards, or your velocity vector at least changes a lot, which makes the viewing angle jerky.
