  1. I've successfully installed RSS countless times. What seems to be the issue?
  2. Great to see this back up and running. It's invaluable for quick cfg edits!
  3. Will you be continuing development on your CSS to realism overhaul and all of its dependencies? Ferram aerospace is basically mandatory in a regular RO build.
  4. Orbit is easy. Its the re-entry and glide-scope that will have you burning the midnight oil. Feel free to use the RO config for the most part. Its a little outdated, but it will get you near the base values.
  5. Well, there are some fundamental flaws included in the CSS pack. The node position and coliders for the control surfaces are misaligned, therefore seriously hampering any FAR config. The delta wing is also impossible to model with one single part, as its a complex shape that FAR can't emulate if it's monolithic, afaik. I've helped with the current CSS RO config, I am currently contributing to a CSS fork along with a few others. It is focused exclusively for release with Realism overhaul and all of its dependencies. You are doing some cool work here, and the modeling is nice(I especially like the cockpit); however the configuration is a little hazy, such as xenon, an inert gas, being used to somehow generate electricity? -Just read it was a placeholder, disregard! You will need alot more than a MM config, but its possible of course. You will definitely want to familiarize yourself with realism overhaul and dependencies such as Ferram Aerospace. If you put the same effort that you have put into the current release, then you should end up with a decent config, and I honestly wish you the best! - - - Updated - - - Heres two links that will certainly come in handy, if you chose to do it. https://github.com/ferram4/Ferram-Aerospace-Research/wiki/Deriving-FAR-values-for-a-wing-using-Blender-2.7 https://github.com/sarbian/ModuleManager/wiki/Module-Manager-Syntax
  6. It takes alot more than trial and error to set up an RO config. Believe me.
  7. HNGGGGGGG!! This looks amazing! So when will this be available on git? Please excuse my impatience!
  8. Hey Saab, Id be willing to make a smokescreen real plume config if you want?
  9. I never really understood why you would want to build "boring" prop planes, as I used to go strait for the biggest meanest high powered cutting edge jet engine to make craft. I've found it to be alot of fun getting it right and flying the old war bird prop planes. This pack makes them alot more ascetically pleasing to boot.
  10. So I made a Seadragon config for THIS Made in accordance with astronautix specifications It wont perform well enough to launch the proposed payload, but its pretty fun to launch and has a low part count. Try using PP tanks and see how much payload you can squeeze out of the big dumb booster. DOWNLOAD
  11. This latest RO release also contains configs for Raidernick's Salyut & Soyuz pack As well as some fixes and additions to his R-7.
  12. Ok after a fair bit of testing ive noticed I could replicate the re-entry issue if i used no RCS to stabilize the shuttle on re-entry. This is not how the real shuttle worked. Taken from NASA spaceflight on the shuttle orbiter: I don't intend to make some ridiculous band-aid via gyro or enormous FAR models to fix something that isn't actually broken.. However I am looking into improving the shuttle and Im currently looking to improve the FAR configs so don't take this as a nose up to criticism.
  13. Sweet baby Jeb, that looks stunning.. Grats on the linux success
  14. I'm not sure exactly what montyben101 is implying. As far as I'm aware the config correctly rescales the robotic arm. If it doesn't, my current WIP does. Ill have a revised cfg ready soonish.. As well as some additional parts
  15. You will need Romfarer's lazor mod installed (at least the romfarer.dll) in order to use the robotic arms Thanks
  16. Yes i noticed this bug myself last night, Currently working on fixing Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the feedback, however I am failing to replicate your report. As for the FAR instability, just checking if you have the most recent version of CSS, as I have not tested the config for older versions and there may be issues with the FAR config. Ascent is a tough one. I can brute force increase gimbal ranges to unrealistic levels (which look rediculous with real plume configs) to have it perfectly stable with stock SAS, but i'm not going to do that as i'm trying to make it analogous to the real shuttle, so refuse to rely on over powerful gyroscopes to control it (the only reason Ive left a SAS module in the engine mount was to have compatibility with Timewarp rotation fix mod I have found it to be very controllable, but not the same as just throwing on SAS and calling it a day. Have you tried manually adjusting SSME trim in the editor? Try setting the top SSME to 'enable roll' in order to control its attitude better. Are you dumping propellant prior to re-entry? It requires a fuel balance mod that is not included. If it has alot of remaining hypergolic propellant, the shuttle will be very unstable on reentry. I am interested in the FAR bug, so let me know if you have the most current version. If so, try my suggestions. Don't mistake my response for sass. I do want the feedback Thanks
  18. Yes, This is for use with realisim overhaul and all of its required mods. While configuring, I found that the left control surface has a mesh that is not aligned with its node. Therefore there are issues with control. My modifications correct this for use with FAR
  19. I have completed a real solar system config for Component Space Shuttle It will be released with the next version of RO hopefully with integrated seperation motors and some other minor tweaks here and there. Try it out and let me know of any bugs. CSS_RO Download
