  1. No. The designer of my rockets (me) often forgets parachutes, antennae, good staging.
  2. I would like to be able to make action groups whilst in space. WAIT!! That request is not impossible or stupid!!
  3. Apples work well, but are quite expensive and lacking in some basic features. With Android you can go expensive or budget, big screen or small, micro sd or not, removable battery or not etc etc.
  4. If we are far along enough to have wormholes do we even need to terraform Venus? Technology that advanced could have mining rovers to survive there.
  5. Same here. I have experimented with having low settings to launch and fly a big ship, but switch back when its below a coupla hundred tonnes. Now I am more advanced I wonder why I needed an 800 tonne ship in the first place!!!!
  6. Such a machine would first need to be used to reduce CO2 on earth!
  7. When a glitch prevents you from making a node to fine tune your planetary encounter, so you eyeball the Nav ball to do it!
  8. All countries have stupid people and also normally intelligent people who take no interest in certain subjects and are therefore ignorant of them. So we shouldn't just pick on Americans! Having said that there is possibly a legitimate argument that could be had about which nations are properly (or not) investing in education and the USA may be one of the ones that isn't.
  9. Sounds to me like the OP described an SR-71 Blackbird with extra rockets added. I'm thinking a viable craft would need to be bigger. Maybe the first near-SSTO could actually use a cheap & disposable booster rocket in some way whilst keeping the rest of the craft fully reusable. The OP doesn't sound too daft really.
  10. Thanks for that, I didn't know they had done that. Why would people doubt that they spacewalked if they don't doubt they built and flew a spacecraft? I would imagine that spacewalking is the simpler of the two disciplines (relying on training and physical ability rather than technology). Who is doubting it exactly?
  11. Moholes Mini manned ships Get a kerbal up the steepest mountain Do a fully cockpit view munar mission
  12. Yeah I think its location is not hidden, so they would know what it went near.
  13. What these guys did was probably not too far in excess of what talented amateurs could probably do and they hit 100kms altitude: (Link is a news article from 2009) http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/3108525/NZs-first-space-rocket-launches
  14. Its too hard to get transfers correct when you are basically eyeballing the angles and comparing to the diagram for the burn, so yeah MOAR fuel to get you through.
  15. I am enjoying the challenge of doing multiple contracts for each launch. I just choose compatible ones.
  16. Its KSP - test by trying!! If it all goes wrong then its OK as rescue missions can be the funnest! - Well before money was involved I suppose!
  17. Maybe we don't need to be advancing as fast as we did in the 50s & 60s. If we are going to space because we are "thinking long term" then why not advance on a long term time scale (as our resources allow). Maybe we as people interested in space are just too impatient!
  18. So what do we think we own? Im guessing we all think we own the earth (so no mining of it by aliens). Im also guessing we think we own the moon. Do we have first call on Mars? Jupiter? Kuiper Belt? Is the entire solar system ours? I bet we would not like it if they were mining our solar system!!! But under our own rules for exploration (such as when Europeans were discovering the rest of the world), if you cant go there and dont have a settlement, you don't have such a good claim! Do we even own earth??
  19. I would think an idea like those Bigelow inflatable stations would be a better future solution. If you did use a main tank as usable space (SRBs dont go to space usually), to solve the problem of cleaning the interior you could expand something like the Bigelow inside a spent stage perhaps? Maybe it would already be seated in the interior taking up space, but ready to go.
  20. Would never work unless the agency had he power to levy taxes itself and to set its own agenda. If not then its budgets and aims would be continually changing in a crippling fashion as the above Governments change often as do their relationships with each other.
  21. I just had this. I wonder if its because I hit chutes to land at KSC and this ship separated into three command pods all with own chutes upon dong that.
  22. Yeah like a Captain on a ship.....only with less time for decision making!
  23. Biggest disappointment for me was Bioshock and Stalker Call of Prypriat. Bioshock was claimed as open world gameplay, but was about as hemmed in and directed as you can get. Stalker was confusing, I was off on mission without really knowing why, the minimap was hard to use. The game was quite hard but I don't fault it on this account, hard is OK.
