  1. Thank you. I'm also happy with how it all turned out. About the moons, they will be inspired by real-life moons or realistic moon concepts. They won't be carbon copies though. In my plans so far I've generally combined the interesting or unique features of two or so moons and combined them into something new. So they are unique, but in a realistic/good way.

A Titan analog would be pretty nifty!

Also, it looks like Distant Object Enhancement is at least rendering flares for the new planets.

  2. Question for folks - I'm not a fan of the radial drills since you always have to do them in pairs or mess with balance.

How do people feel about having the extractor as the bottom part of a ship (i.e. belly mounted)? The plan would be that I'd bundle the MKS struts as a platform, and the extractor would rest below that so you would have to drop it in via a sky crane or parachute.

    Thoughts? Alternate ideas?

A drill like the MKS module base that we could attach a storage tank to the top of would pretty ace I think.

  3. Pro Tip (?): I use MechJeb to launch to Rendezvous with my station in a 125km equatorial orbit. I set my ascent profile to 40%. This burns up the External Tank, or very nearly does, and leaves me with right around 100 m/sec to circularize. Irregardless I separate from the ET at MECO and toggle to the OMS. The OMS burn is short and I have a lot of fuel remaining for maneuvers and the eventual deborbit. Obviously payload mass determines how much, if any, fuel remains in the ET at MECO, but even with an eight ton payload I still have lots of delta-v to work with.

I'll experiment with a 150km orbit tonight for a Duna Transfer Vehicle assembly. Will post pics.
