  1. As the title says I cannot get the asset compiler and unity to work. I'm mostly looking for help in this regard to get the compiler to the point where I can actually finish my mod. So what is exactly the problem? Well, it lies with the TextMeshProResolver script. specifically I am getting this error in the unity debug: Assets/Plugins/KSPAssets/TextMeshProResolver.cs(7,7): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `UnityEditor' could not be found. Are you missing an assembly reference? Followed by, Error building Player because scripts had compiler errors Well that much should be obvious... The script is the patched version from this post but I suspect there are bigger problems at work here. Specifically the versions of part tool, unity editor and Text Mesh pro. In order to get TextMeshPro at this point in time you must get it through the store. Which is fine, but if you attempt to install it it will not work since the version of unity required for modding 5.4.0p4 and Text Mesh Pro "doesn't support it". So if I can't get text mesh then part tool won't work which means my mod can't continue. So instead I'm using the earliest version that seems to work with TextMeshPro which is 2017.2.0f3 . But now I'm getting compiler errors and things have been quite the headache. I'm just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Any information is useful.
  2. ...when your craft weighs so much it clips through the ground and explodes... Yes. It's happened..... Don't ask.
  3. as other have already said.. it's mostly just running out of RAM. Whenever I check my crash logs it's always usually the case
  4. I can confirm that the Menai Expansion works. (I can also pair the normal Sentar Expansion with it as well) However, I am using the Active Texture management Ultra x64 version. So It just seems to oddly be a ram problem..? I can't figure it out. I haven't gotten any of the other expansion packs to work. And also Pershimu's Textures are all screwed up in the map mode (the they look fine when orbiting) If you want to get them to work I would suggest getting the texture management mod which will allow you to at least get Sentar back up and running. However if you want Manai to work you need to delete the planet "Inaccessable" (for some reason this will always crash my game if I have it installed) IF you delete it it will place a second minmus where it used to be so you could just hyperedit it a couple lightyears away and you should be good.
  5. I'm having.. uh.. issues. I'm finding that it is impossible to reload any guns. (it is possible to reload the missile pods) I'm getting almost frustrated. I cannot do it... I'll go through step by step what I'm doing. 1. Fire the gun and use a bunch of ammo. 2. Get out of the vehicle (in this case it's a pod with a Metal support beam attached with the gun and an ammo box right beside it) and right click on the gun and press the "reload from nearby" button. 3. Get back into vehicle to find that the ammo has not changed at all. 4. get back out and press the "transfer ammo button" 5. Alt click the ammo box and press the "transfer ammo" button. nothing works. I even tried alt clicking the ammo box inside the pod and then "transfering" the ammo the way you transfer fuel. Nothing. It just simply refuses to reload. I don't understand! Is it just broken because of the new version? Before I had multiple different mods on but I removed all of them except for module manager and this mod and I still cannot reload the guns. I don't know how to reload anyways.. I thought it would be straightforward haha. If there is some unusual way of reloading the ammo can someone tell me? Like I said, no mods installed. Just skillful. I'm trying every button I see to no avail. What is going wrong? ( just got this mod by the way and absolutely love it good job )
  6. The demo was barely scratching the surface. Ok so here is what happened for me. I bought the game and played for about 20 hours (total) I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed making crafts flying to planets, etc. etc. However I didn't know what to do after that. I got together with a group of friends and we started having "Space races" who could get to a planet first. It was a ton of fun. Pretty much I would say just have fun with it. Explore planets, do the career mode. Get a good feel for the game. Then go and get mods, mods add quite a bit more to the game like Krag's planet factory which adds other planets. find and test new crafts. Build a huge ship and then blow it up with your own home made missiles it's a ton of fun. If you really get bored try out the KMP or DMP mods (Kerbal Multiplayer , Dark multiplayer) then you'll be playing with friends and other people. I moved from a simple 20 hours to having a grand total of 274 hours (and counting) and I'm still not bored yet. It's hard to run out of things to do. It's worth every penny if you're going to buy it
  7. http://imgur.com/LqNct7p,d4O3Yhi http://imgur.com/LqNct7p,d4O3Yhi#1 So I made this pretty schweet looking ship aha. Spent quite a while working on it. It currently has over 640 parts so it Lags my PC quite a bit. I had to send up the ship in two parts and use mech jeb to dock the two together since it was honestly extremely hard to control these things. Most of the parts are seriously just for looks. And if you look at the ship as a whole it looks pretty good. However if you REALLY look down into the ship you'll see that I'm still just an amateur builder and this can easily be improved upon by anybody who wants to do so. (Just give meh credit for the base D:) So the ship has 642 parts. the back end has 420 and the front end has 242 I guess if you want to test how fast KSP will run with a huge ship this is perfect It is *Nearly fully functional. It has a VERY slow turn and not exactly the greatest amount of thrust. I actually added four engines onto the back of the thing. Plus some Ion thrusters from the Deep Space Mission pack. I wanted this to be at least somewhat usable. (and yes I know the ship actually does fly more or less backwards) For those of you who wish to enjoy this glorious ship's...uh..... Essence? Just go to here. Crew Area - https://mega.co.nz/#!RR0G2QrT!PryjHMVKlTKhERPd3AtcvKPxo_a_h-a5quA8ECwlZ8g Thrust Section (type thing) - https://mega.co.nz/#!ZcMF0ARJ!PLhFIkyheK9DmvCIEPU-1koSFlNJ8RBGq44EVKrQv0U Mods I used - 1. DSM (Deep Space mission Pack) 2. InterStellar Mod pack (I would like to mention that even though many parts in version 0.24.2 don't work the parts I used still work just fine) 3. MechJeb for docking the two sections together 4. Hyperedit for getting the giant hulking beasts into space. - If I missed any mod packs please tell me! Anyways I hope you guys enjoy it. Take a look at this Cinematic I made for the ship Pretty cool eh? Anyways now that we have all of the big details outta the way I'll talk about the ship itself. Once you've downloaded the ship you'll notice many different parts in a ton of different areas. First let's start with the back. I took a look at alot of pictures and I would recommend searching up benprocter.com he is the guy who came up with the design for the ship originally. (I would post a link but I forget if that is against forums rules or not) I started out with the base - The DSM mod packs Circular Cockpits. I took a look at a bunch of pictures however I didn't get a good look at what the space between the two tanks (DSM Cockpits) so I figured that I should improvise. Make it smooth and technology filled. So I put Batteries, structural pieces. and lots of Generators. (plus more than a few Reactors) You will notice that alot of parts merge together. Don't worry. As long as you don't fire anything at the ship it won't blow up for no apparent reason. After creating the back I set out on creating the frame for the trusses, and Crew area (connector). I didn't spend too long in this spot. It was easy enough placing each structural piece. After Finishing off on the central spot it was time to move on to the Antimatter engines on both sides. It was easy enough I stuck some fuel and a DSM nuclear reactor for power and I was all good. However I didn't know how to make the engines. I fidgeted the parts around for a while until I figured out that you can glitch some parts inside the DSM structural pieces. Problem solved! After that I stuck on a fuel tank added the engine put a generator in the middle and it looked great! I copied this on the other side. Now after doing this I went back and added alot more reactors and structural pieces to the Ship. I was looking at a diagram and I wanted the central part to be filled up like it was supposed to be. I added a few Aero parts as support and it was finally starting to come together. At the back of the ship it was easy enough to add on the Radiators they looked cool and all you had to do was deploy them. I moved on to the weird tail thingy at the back and strengthened everything up. great time for a quick launch! I launched it up and noticed it was pretty slow so I added some quick aero spike engines (and played around with fission reactors to make it look cool) and then moved on to the crew quarters. I just looked at a bunch of pictures to do this it went by fast so I don't remember the steps I took. While looking at the pictures I started to ask myself "Why would the engines be facing backwards? And then figured it out. the ship isn't supposed to fly the way I had originally though it did. so great I had wasted a long time adding a bunch of random engines to the back when it really flew the other way. Anyways. I did some research and found out the tail thingy is actually a solar sail. so I added that. so the ship does have reversing capabilities! UGH That was way tool long. If you read all that props to you!
  8. Made a craft that pulls around 300 g's and then went to jool in 77 days landed on laythe and managed to come back without the kraken attacking me so it was a pretty good day!
